Tan Chuan Jin also from army.. and he is so much better in handling people.. I feel MG chen should really learn from BG Tan how to get out of army way of doing things..

LIKE!

BG Tan is seems more willing to listen. That's what the PAP lack... listening to the ground. Tell that to that MG... he should come and listen, not criticize people for criticising the govt.

I think what he is actually saying is to take charge, offer constructive criticism, don't just throw stones to stir the water but offer no credible solution.

So far almost 2 pages already but still no constructive criticism. Just coffee shop talk only.

getting such a high salary and yet ask people to offer better ideas.

where is his brain? kept at home is it?

If people got better ideas and offer them, they will take it and claim credit.

I know we should not be selfish, but i cannot stand them claiming credit.

Ok.. let me put it in another perspective..

How do you look at critcisum is constructive or not constructive ?

How do you measure it?

I mean sometimes when a person X thinks that the criticisum is not constructive where in fact actually the criticisum by person Y is is quite good in a way of reflection what happen on ground, why is it happeing, etc.

Look me give a example..

http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...#commentSection

Do you think this stomper is providing constructive posting on stomp or is he just anyhow want shoot SMRT ?

Yes many people may feel.. hey it is commom sense la.. the half height platform screen doors also need time to be up.. and not fix already and straight away can use.. so many people may feel the stomp just posted rubbish and out to tear down SMRT image.. But wait a minuate...

If you look at another perspecive, on thinking why stomper post this on stomp.. you may realise that hey.. he do not really understand how the half height platform screen door suppose to be constructed and cannot be immeditatly up and operation and need some testing to make sure it is fully working and thus also need time.

So now after looking at my comments above do you feel it is a constructive posting by stomper on the stomp already?

So what I am trying to say is if MG chen mindset is just very fix and keep thinking those comments or posting which he deem is damaging to him or whatsoever.. than it is damaging to him as a image.. but if MG chen can be more open and understand why people think that way.. as in how come so stupid posting also come out.. MG chen may discover another side of people mindset which actually not all people understand what is really going on actually... and thus can be able to tackle and solve the problem.. as in if people do not post stupid things... than people will not know actually there is still a lot of people mistaken of information or do not know what actually happens.. and thus MG chen could not improve at all.. and stay as what he is.. So is it good?

How can we offer "constructive" ideas if we dont't know actual cost price of HDB, how much land is used for DBSS?

KBW knows himself now - he is trying to reverse what MBT did.

The credible solution FOR THE PEOPLE TO OFFER was to remove MBT. And it was exactly coffeeshop talk that removed him. All namecalling was not in vain.

I think he's right in some ways

If something is wrong, give a solution instead of just standing around pointing fingers (yes even though there are times when pointing fingers [furious] is important)

However, PAP and govt has often ignored the questions in the past, remains to be seen if they will come down from their ivory towers to the ground.

hmm.. true.. but as Tonyng mention.. sometimes things are not so simple.. like people do not know complete imformation of the things.. how to give solutions? I mean if there is a problem.. minister can easilly get information from companies, their record etc.. but as normal singaporeans can we do that?

So sometimes it is not that we do not want give solutions.. but more of imformation just on surface how we expect to give solutions.. and some of the issue is very complicated and need a lot of people to work on.. can't expect a average singaporeans to just very fast give a good solution in a sense..

We only throw stones at screwed ups. If screwed ups are small, then difficult to hit. But if its big like HDB issue, then easy to hit.

You got the point. You are right.
