Next time we ownself "make" water, then they can monopolise the whole thing.

U want U buy from us. Find it expensive ? go buy mineral water or go boil sea water to get fresh water, but U got to pay U know..coz the sea water is under spore water territory.

Seems like the squeezing has started again. [bigcry][bigcry][bigcry]

"You have to get the price right so that people understand that this is a scarce resource and will value it," he said, adding that producers of water should also be able to get economic return on their investment.

The subtle meaning is that Singaporeans will just LPPL and keep their mouth shut when government increases water tariffs.

Next time I go JB pump petrol, I wil also bring a big container n bring back cheap JB water.

OMG [shocked] What is this country coming to. [furious]

Neutral Newbie

If your next door neighbour willing to sell you water cheaper than PUB, will you take pails go buy from him everyday instead of subscribing to SP services?

Paying more (as long as not ridiculously more) to be water independant, why not?

i remember he said something like.

PM " we can charge water at a loss, sell at a heavily subsidized rate or sell at a profit. and we decided to choose sell at a profit as Singaporean do not mind spending higher for clean water..."

pls correct me if i heard wrongly

U r Right. Now we pay more insteady of buying from M'sia and sell back to M'sia. S'pore buy cheap raw water and sell back to Johor after processing. When selling already make profits. Now end up, we pay more due to heavily invested desalination plants. Being indepandance on own resource is good but M'sia is willing to sell to us and also buy it from us.
