Dallii Neutral Newbie July 7, 2011 Author Share July 7, 2011 well if you dig deeper enough, you'll realise why 8.28 is a nice ratio
Smhomie Clutched July 7, 2011 Share July 7, 2011 According to the guy i spoke to in the showroom, in Sg, about 500km. I wouldn't bet on it. 500km is quoted specs based on 'ideal' driving conditions.... constant speed, lesser stop intervals, stable battery thermal condition etc. The figure drops to half if you are constantly 'zipping' around aka accelerating. It also drops if you use all accessories onboard simultaneously + aftermarket ie. GPS + ERP unit My cousin in mountain view, CA has one. He has already sold it off, back to gas guzzler. This was in 2009. Battery capacitance and its efficiency performance degrades over time. A novelty no doubt but lacks mobility support. I foresee the local company would lease/rent them out rather than outright sales. Not many takers, seriously would bother to buy. Play play for a while, yes. They should realize this. Unknown resale value, at the mercy of the green incentive rebate by the government deters potential adopters.

Peaceracer 1st Gear July 8, 2011 Share July 8, 2011 i still dont understand. CNG can get ARF rebate but electric car cannot. and electric car is cleaner I think one of the reasons for this is the revenue that the gov can earn from the sale of CNG and fuel. If electric cars become popular, they lose a portion of their income. Thus this could be a way to deter that from happening.

Badder Neutral Newbie July 11, 2011 Share July 11, 2011 1 gear. 8.28:1. its an electric car. it uses an electric motor. electric motors dont need 'gearboxes' with different ratios - just need a final drive gear. The motor just turns at whatever speed is needed in other words - theres no need for a traditional gearbox

Thejack Neutral Newbie July 14, 2011 Share July 14, 2011 Is a electric car a future? Is it worth to buy an electric car? Why companies doesn't produce more electric cars? What do you think of solution on image for electric cars to drive it for a much longer distance Like ordinary cars and have full batteries in 5 minutes? Is it ok or there is missing something?

Gabriel 1st Gear July 23, 2011 Share July 23, 2011 good idea but maybe impractical..takes time to remove the batts..and bolts or whatever that holds the batts will wear off fast...if remove and put back frequently Is a electric car a future? What do you think of solution on image for electric cars to drive it for a much longer distance Like ordinary cars and have full batteries in 5 minutes?
