Drive shaft = a few hundred dollars.... CV joint boot cover just replace the rubber cover about 50-60 per side. parts and labour better change earlier to avoid more complication... Tom_kkh 1st Gear July 7, 2011 Share July 7, 2011 this is very misleading. My friend's car when turning goes tok tok tok caused by his faulty shaft. he want to max his $ so he asked the WS and the WS say no change also no problem. 1 month later, while doing a slow traffic light u turn, his steering wheel refused to turn back and he had an accident with the front car. after analyzed, discovered he couldn't turn because his shaft snapped! so a living eg, they do snap when under pressure, those who say no, they are just lucky it did not happen to them. He was lucky it did not snap when he was on the highway 5 minutes ago. in the end he spent more to repair the accident vs changing his shaft at the first place

Yeobh 4th Gear July 9, 2011 Share July 9, 2011 Replacing damaged CV boot is time consuming if done in the old fashion way. Here use of air spreader does cut down the installation time to a great degree.
