It is anybody's guess whether they took any actions.

 

When I send photos of an illegally parked vehicle on double-yellow line to HDB, they send me a form to sign up if I am prepared to stand in court.

I have no problem that LTA taking a softer approach of asking people to move their cars instead of giving them a ticket straight away. In fact i find it a good way forward. But asking the complainer to stand in court to testify is ridiculous cos in order for the driver who parked his car illegally to be charged, mean LTA would have enough evidences eg. Photo, etc. Should be a staright forward thing. Unless LTA is saying it only become an offence if someone complaint or the driver will only be successfully convicted if there is a witness. If so, maybe for those who kenna snapped for bus line offences should ask LTA if they have witness to testify otherwise no case.

I was asked to testify against reckless driving too when I reported.

LTA should just close shop.

Cameras mounted all over the highway...could be used to verify the incident but they rather you turn up in court.

This causes many not to testify and the inconsiderate to rise. Welcome to SG...

LTA's outsourcing of the warden function is a big joke. It's another classic case of the authorities taichi responsibility to others juz like the bomb case.

 

Soft approach to offenders + Being difficult wif law abiding ppl who report offences = Lawlessness.

True, i ever call up the enforce warden to come down to summon an illegal parking car, and they told me the warden can only reach the place at least 45 mins to 1 hour plus! I was thinking by the time they reached, the car already gone!

Out of the box thinking.

Next time you want to illegal park, call them up to check how fast they can come.

If more then 45mins....then it's safe to illegal park ourselves!!

LTA should be the next agency to be scrutinise and review, the new transport minister better wake up his idea and start reviewing LTA initiatives, projects, ideas etc....

I wonder if another factor is due to poor remuneration on lower and middle management for these enforcement departments that they leave the institution, and end up becoming contractors instead. Same work, better income. I've heard stories like this in civil service, that they rather pay contractors higher than giving better benefits to lower and middle level civil servants. Of course, superscale civil servants have no complaints unless they compare their own talents with the ministers.
