Just had my 1st run after recovery from flu and cough. Was hit by bicycle coming head on. Now left thigh slightly bruised

Almost wanted to punch the migrant worker, but it was his new year. But really reckless of him to turn his head while cycling talking to his friend behind. Turn his head also turn handle bar, lucky my reaction was fast. Imagine if I was a kid, definitely wouldn't be just bruised thigh.

Where you run? [:/] Nowadays really have to be careful while running, sometimes even running at park or connector, there will be cyclists cycling quite fast along the route. -_-

Yes, even the Punngol Waterway getting very crowded now

My friend went cycling there (leisure not fast) and complain that many people block path, cycle anyhow, even walking need whole path.

Soon it will be like east coast, won't be able to move!! [furious][furious]

On the plus side, last night when I went running in it was empty (rainy weather) - I managed 10km in 57:19 [wave]

Best ever so very happy.

Round the back on the gravel path should still be quite good, in the evenings I haven't had a problem, but I suspect that the area around popeyes and the other water pplay area will be crowded on weekends

Raining weather usually those park would be quite quiet and empty. Cause road is wet and slippery, not many people want to run. [rolleyes]

Yup, yesterday was crowded maybe it was public holiday. I was only about 50m from reaching my end point when hit by the cyclist, it was 7.22pm.

Drizzling and very few people, but this fellow just suddenly swerve into my path. Can't imagine when here is fully developed.

The difference here and ECP is some stretches are shared path. So a lot of criss-crossing, thus cyclists should exercise more care.

I notice many cyclists dont exercise more care and look out or slow down when they see people along the path. Many times when running at those path, suddenly there will be one cyclist zoom past you from behind at very high speed!

Especially on weekends. On weekends I run the other way, i.e towards Defu Lane u-turn back to Punggol park for a few rounds to complete the target distance.

Nowadays many cyclist cycle recklessly along park connector where a lot of kids playing and people jogging. I have seen some cyclist even use motorised bicycle zoom pass at high speed probably ~40kmH. it is bound accident to be happen. The authority should start do something abt it as those area many people jog, kids cycle and elders have their walk. :o

You stay somewhere near Popeyes izzit? Sometimes for the sake of variety I also run towards Defu - then go up and down the access tracks to get at least a little bit of uphill in. But much prefer heading towards Punggol Jetty - the back track is nicer, but I've been avoiding it because of the rain.

Those motorised bikes are going to become a real menance soon. Not to mention the lycra clad....the speed can be pretty fast.

Another menace when jogging along park connector is there are come cyclist smoke and cycle at the same time. so they left a trace of second hand smoke behind and the jogger behind who are catching their breath have to inhale those smoke. Really piss off!

Lol, agreed. Instead we jog to inhale fresh air and improve our health, but ended up breathing in 2nd hand smoke from those smokers. <_<
