Dleodleo Twincharged July 5, 2011 Share July 5, 2011 (edited) Hi, I went to KL a month ago and stayed at Dorsett Regency Hotel KL, it is located in Bukit Bintang area (beside Westin Hotel KL). Walk 10 or 15 mins to sungei wang/Berjaya times Square. Parking is free. If you have kids, you can stay at their Deluxe Double room. It comes with 2 queen beds. Room i see is quite new, think they have just renovated their rooms. there are coffee/tea making facilities, bath tub, LCD TV, in room safe in the room. They have very good spread of breakfast. I paid only SGD99 for Deluxe room with breakfast for 2 duirng the Travel Malaysia Fair in May. Edited July 5, 2011 by Dleodleo

Cleyeo Neutral Newbie July 12, 2011 Share July 12, 2011 I'm planning to go to KL in Q3 with extended family shopping and also visiting relatives who are staying in Bukit Bintang area. Would it be better getting 2 separate rooms in a hotel, or a service aparment with 2 rooms? For kids I think they would be happy playing in the living room of a service apartment. Any SA to recommend? Service Apartment KL PLAZA is worth considering (not high end, but worth staying). I stayed there 5-6 times. You can choose 2,3 Bedrooms apt. Location is just perfect, between Starhill and Lot 10. Swimming pool is available !
Cleyeo Neutral Newbie July 12, 2011 Share July 12, 2011 Radius is my choice too. Been staying here more than 10 times. Just walking distance to famous food street (Alor Street) and Bukit Bintang. I left my car in the hotel carpark, then roam around using LRT. simple and convenience !
Tireburner 3rd Gear October 24, 2011 Share October 24, 2011 Agreed. Reasonable price. Good location. Within 2 mins walk to Bukit Bintang and LRT. There is a guard in the carpark. Are you referrring to Parkroyal Hotel or Parkroyal Serviced Suite? Any idea the carpark here is opened, covered or multi storey? Is it guarded? I'll be staying in Parkroyal Serviced suites serviced apartment next month during the school holidays for 2 nights. With the taxes, the 2 rooms SA cost RM620++ but I guess getting 2 rooms in a hotel would be around the same too. BTW, is there a time where traffic is not so jialat along Jln. Sultan Ismail? Any improvement on traffic along this stretch of road? The last time I drove 2 years ago, traffic was really slow moving and bumper to bumper. Siewss 1st Gear October 25, 2011 Share October 25, 2011 Try Doubletree. It's new, clean and the rooms are spacious. Service needs beefing up as in the staff are young and relatively untrained, but they are willing to serve.
Tireburner 3rd Gear November 14, 2011 Share November 14, 2011 Just came back from the KL trip. Stayed 3 nights at Parkroyal Suites Serviced Apartment. Actually the 2 bedder has 3 bedrooms! Just that the other room has a sofa bed instead of the usual bed. Enough rooms for the 7 of us - 5 adults and 2 kids and with a living and dining rooms to play host to the relatives from KL visiting in the evening. Overall happy staying there as it's just 1 year old. It has a sky pool and another pool with gym on the lower floor. Daily free transfer to many shopping centres - KLCC, Mid Valley, Sunger Wang etc. Breakfast is so so only (was hoping to see both local as well) with continental but quality is good. About 5 mins walk to Pavillion and Starhill Gallery. No issue parking there for 3 nights. They have jaga at the exit.
Meanmachine Supercharged November 14, 2011 Share November 14, 2011 Parkroyal KL second that, nice location and hearty b/f, comfy bed and mins to all KL shopping belts . . . walk behind alley lane has Bah Kut Tek and KL infamous big prawn noodles at reasonable prices, many SP car drove in and park at Otel lobby, guards on duty takes care, be sure to tip the otel guard to pay extra care of your car ( not compulsory, juz a token so tat he will take no chance ), If Ur car is branded, park nearer to the life door. I did that with wheel-lock. Peace of mind ya!

Can u advise how's the flood control situation of the road in that area? The car park in this apt is basement or multistory? Any sign of flooding in their car park? Have replied your PM. Anyway, will do so here too. Before heading out, I was worried too about flooding in KL especially in Parkroyal Suites where I stayed. But all turned out well. Didn't see any signs of flooding in the 1-year-old hotel and car park. It has a 5 level basement carpark and I parked mostly in B2 and B3. Did ask hotel stafff if flooding ever happened in their area and they replied negative. But Bukit Bintang is just after the SMART tunnel which is designed flood diversion tunnel. So it should be ok. My 2 cents' opinion. Stayed there 3 nights followed by another 3 nights in Genting. My family and 1 thoroughly enjoyed the week long holiday up north.
