Help: two iPads and identical apps.

Ok...few days back bought a new iPad2.

Set up with my existing iTunes account.

I have another Ipad1, which I have organized the folders very nicely. As there are over 100s of apps, a organized iPad is essential. If not organized, the apps would overflow outside the 11pages, and will not be easily accessible.

I am having a headache. Trying to tick And untick the apps and rearrange it manually on my new ipad2.

I can't seems to get my new iPad2 to sync to be a exact copy of my old iPad.

I want to have two identical iPads with same identical apps, exactly same arrangement and position of the icons!

Anyone knows how to sync and make both iPad totally identical?

I read few apple help site......no one seem to ask to Have identicL iPhone or iPads. Most only talk about multiple accounts sharing apps, or wife hubby manually tick/untick the apps they need from iTunes, etc.

I just want to sync both iPads to be identical..so I can interchange between two iPads without searching high and low for apps that are not at the usual pages.

Thanks.

Yes both different name.

Both share same iTunes account and password.

When I plug in one after another iTunes, And sync both. They still come out different arrangement!

I and tried to connect and sync one after for like 4 times continuously, but it just does not work.

Some setting are not right.

setting, apps, music and video will be synced if uwanted ur ipad2 to setup as ur ipad1 during first sync. however, apps location/folder will not be copied. u will have to rearrange them again.

i dont think the folder arrangement can be "copied" over exactly like another device.... call Apple? [laugh] there's 90 days free phone support...

what i do is a more leche method.

1. create another user ID for window log in

2. Set up the itune

3. Copy the apps (you can locate the folder for all the apps) to the new user ID

4. Select only the apps that you want to transfer over

them whenever you need to sync the ipad, you log in to the respective user ID on window. The good thing is if its belong to different owner, different log in also create different outlook accounts for sync of email and contact, etc.

Will this give me exact identical apps folders and position on both iPads?

I am very frustrated as there are few hundreds (mostly freebies) apps in the library, can't remember which name to tick and untick to get the same apps on both iPads.

Also the folders where all the category of apps are arranged needs a LOONG time to manually 'hold n drag' to get it identical.

Is there a easier way, like reset the new ipad2. And try to fool the iTunes into sync the exact apps into the new ipad2 as if it was the old iPad.

I am disappointed that I can't get two identical iPads setup automatically.......manually rearrangement is no joke.

i think he has no issues syncing both with identical apps, he just wants B to be sync exactly like how A looks like... instead of rearranging the stuffs again..

but after first sync and rearranging it, doesnt it stay? [:/]

Yes....syncing with same apps do take up some manually tick and untick effort.

That is the easy part.

But naming the folders, and putting the apps in the folders, and arranging the position of apps inside the folders, and the folders itself is a daunting task.

If apple do not support it, then I will have no choice but to do it manually.

But if it's possible and maybe just have to get the configuration in iTunes right, then please I need guidance.

i dun think they are smart enough to arrange the apps in the identical position/page cos every ipad is like for different owner and they have their own preference.

You can still arrange it on itune page by page though.

I am not sure it's faster.

My mouse and computer seems to lag a lot when I open my iTunes.

I tried dragging it but....it's as tedious as doing it manually on the ipad2 itself.

it was Apple who design it this way, coz every device is unique by Apple standard. arrange thru itune is PITA, especially thru windows os.... would rather do it in the ipad........

Ok...thanks...so it seems that there is no easy method to clone another identical iPad!

Really fuss up last few days trying to figure out out to get exact page view on both iPad.

Haiz......
