2.3.4 is honeycomb? what's the difference between the 2 when installed on the SGS2?

After having had a very tiring experience with the Desire HD, I'm going to keep my SGS2 unrooted through its lifespan.

no. honeycomb is official at 3.1.3 i think.

2.3.4 is gingerbread.. for GS2 version only. 2.3.5 also another one.. selected device might have additional update push out to stablise hardware issue

Bro, try this...

Go to "Settings" - "Mobile Networks" - "Network Mode", and select "GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)". Try surfing the net with 3G again and see if there is H instead. [;)]

i also have this same problem. when on 3G it doesnt connect to data, only when H+. however, when i manually set to GSM then switch to WCDMA, then the H+ comes out and data works. even when on auto mode, it doesnt work all the time. is this a bug?

Neutral Newbie

I have not flash my set. It is still stock. 3G was not able to access many a times. H+ no issue.

Called telco company and now they send the configurations over. Will test it to see how it manage.

Probably you are right regarding the 3G status. When on 3G, internet will be like searching till it

changes back to H+.

I use to have the same problem with my GSII, after flashing with newer firmware from other region problem is completely solved. If you're still on the original KF1 firmware, probably that is the cause.

Currently I'm using firmware version XXKG5. Good and stable.

You can get it from xda forum - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

This phone have improved in his battery lifespan after i have download lots of software.

However, the internet seems to be on and off. Sometimes can connect to the server, sometimes will lose connection.

I still think my previous iphone 3Gs is more reliable in the internet connection. Once others send me email, i will receive on the spot.

For samsung, it depends on the phone's mode. =-=

Heaps of differences depending on what you do with the phone.

I can download er-hmm songs w/o restrictions, send files via bluetooth, tether to whatever device and not retricted to its own brand, flash sites are no problem with flash player, screen is so much more vibrant, file transfers are a breeze like a external drive, can play with folders w/o being afraid of screwing up the system, can swap about external micro SDHC cards, 8MP camera now with flash, battery capacity can be swapped around depending on what I want to use the phone for, firmware flashable giving flexibility if one wants to root and do customisation, can stream to TV easily.......

The T9 can disable leh if you don't want it.

other than those in bold.. nothing much iphone cannot do actually. for those with roots requirement. more or less same as Iphone, if you know how that is.

and the one in bold, iphone also can. what are you talking about?? just convert to MP3 will do.

As others have mentioned, think its the modem fiirmware.

Mine's an export set running non local firmware and i don't have any issues at all. Speed is good and I don't even want to root and try to get it to run faster, etc..... its good enough as it is.

With an extended battery (3500mAH), it can last double the stock. But it makes the phone fat.... so depending on usage (like going onto planes, holidays, etc) one can swap out the stock battery to have extended usage interval before needing to charge. Juice is probably the main draw down but so are all the other smart phones.

What you talking..... find me an app that will download MP3 directly.... at the most can only listen but cannot store. You show me how you do bluetooth file transfers with iphone? Got flash now ah???? Last I knew still don't have. Batt can swap around ah?

You sure you referring to iphone... or Hi-phone???

PC download, manual convert and then transfer don't count.

Oh... for that matter... idevices are rather incapacitated without itunes (i.e. a PC)

If you jailbreak there is not much different between what the 2 phone can do.
