mine comes with factory fitted... cool feature indeed. sometimes all hand occupied with bags can ask wifey to unlock from passenger door.

saw in a news review, such cool feature comes with a risk. Car hijackers can easily just open the door when your keys are in range.

Imagine you park near toilet at petrol kiosk, lock the car. Someone just press the handle, go in press "Start", and off he goes. The news claims this method has been tested and works on many car models with such features.

Not sure if the newer ones are more clever or not. Maybe recognize by thumbprints of owner or something? [sweatdrop]

Yes...bring out key is tedious if you carry a laptop bag, some hand carry stuff.

Also useful for grocery shopping where the hands are full carrying the goods.

you means you dont need extra hand to take out the remote when you install this? if so, isnt it the same as finding your key with your spare hand?

my experience is not so bad. i need to be really very close to the car in order to open the door from the handle. i think it depends on the sensitivity of the sensor to the keyless entry.

the keyless only works around 1 meter range or less. seriously don't think they so toot to make it work from far distance.

U the one.

Keyless = Key does not need to be present/presented.

So as long as the driver does not need to physically hold onto the key or use the key, it is considered keyless entry. What you describe AFAIK is only in the ideal world and only available in cars that cost a fair bit more than your run of the mill Cerato Forte and Latio.

I don't wish to argue semantics with you.

You got your own opinion about what you see and hear and know....good for you.

No problem with me.

Which ws in jb?

Where did u purchase spy keyless?

The shop is near KSL City name: Ah Wee.

The keyless cum push start button is spy with alarm. Totally keyless and pressless. The lock/unlock activation is only when u get near to the car around 1 meter. You can opt for auto foldable for side mirror and head lamp upon lock/unlock engine on/off activation.

I have the keyless entry and push-start installed in my civic. Its works really well. The door will unlock only when your key is near the car. Nothing to press.

Once you are in the car, you only need to push a button to start the engine. Thats all.

Have been using it for close to a year. Only thing is that i need to remind myself to change the battery on the key every few months, just in case it dries up at the wrong time.

Once you have it, I think it is difficult to live without it.

Even for keyless entry your car keys have to be close enough (in your bag, pocket, somewhere)... meaning you still have to look for them and bring them along with you from home/office. It would serve better if you get a good organizer for your bag/car, can keep your pockets and bag clutter free and save the $..

Now thats my opinion and to each his own...

yeah agreed. you still need to bring that device along with you, so if you forget it, it's back to square 1. Some keyless entry might actually work against you.

for example, if your vehicle is locked, and you happen to just stand by the side of it and talk to someone else, your car would unlock as it senses your device in your pocket. And after your conversation, you walk away leaving your vehicle unlocked unknowingly. Pretty unsafe! [bigcry]

When the device is out of range the alarm will activate itself again. So no worries about forgetting to lock.

The issue for my kpe is that sometimes when I already walked to the driver door it still can't sense my remote in my pocket. That's the only issue I ve with kpe else happy to have it.

True.... but can't bring to mind a scenario I overheard one day:

"With the keyless lock/unlock system, when we leave the car we can't help but wonder if it's locked when we left it. However when we walk back to check the car, it is always unlocked!"

I had 1 in my car.

1 biggest issue is that sometimes I need to get real close. I mean really super close my body is 1cm from the door then the alarm disarm on it's own.

Imagine if is raining and you are running towards your car.....

That's the only setback
