Cable tie on Mustafa plastic bags

Hmm..Why is it that I always see Mustafa plastic bags had a cable tie fastened to it .

 

Is it meant for easy carry or the contents in the bag has expensive stuff ?

for security purpose, if you want to enter Mustafa with your own plastic bag, they will fasten it at the door also.

 

After you pay, they will fasten the plastic bag so you cannot put anything else into the bag without paying before you leave.

Think mustard has one of the highest rate of shoplifting that's why they resort to that.

Last time got a lot of jokers shoplifting. Because the place is so big and there are so many cash counters, very easy for someone to buy some cheap thing, then open the bag again to shoplift something else. Hence the ties.

I'll teach you a quick way to remove them (in case you haven't figured it out yet). Twist (pleat) the ends of the carrying loops tightly together a few times, then slip the cable tie off easily. If you can't locate scissors to cut them off, this is the way to go rather than tearing and wasting the bag.

Many years ago , I went to Mustafa looking to buy some cable ties and realized they don't sell it anywhere Then one of the staff told me they only use them for their own plastic bags. Wonder why they would think someone would buy their cable ties in their store to steal things, and not bring their own cable ties.

 

Recently, I noticed they finally realized this is a stupid idea and do sell cable ties now

I don't blame them. One should look at their customers before commenting. I understand they've considered many methods and decided this works best

ya maybe. we can reuse mustafa plastic bag, put some items and then use our own cable tie and tie....the staff will assume those items inside are paid. no need check LOL
