opinions needed.... [;)]

My S drive (205/45/16)got a nail near the sidewall few months ago and was plugged... so far so good.. it didnt leaked..

As of now...i have neutron nt5k back (30%) and front S drive (60-70%)

i was thinking of wearing my S drive and change to 4 at one time in a yrs time... however im going genting 2 months later with my family...

i was wondering whether i am putting them at risk.... max speed (150km/hr)

there are options i exploring

1) rotate front / back as mine is FWD (make sense?)

2) change 4 but look for cheaper alternative like KU31

3) rotate front / back and change 1 pair of S drive...

4) dont bother, travel slightly slower....

5) others??

i attached the pix for reference.

thread is well worn imo and the sidewall incursion would have alarmed me in any case. Anyway i am not sure how well worn your other tires are.

If the other three still have plenty of mileage left, i suggest change 2 only to save $$$

If the other three are not much better than the picture then change 4. [cool]

Hi,

change the older pair of tyre and put the new pair in front. N make sure your spare tire is in good condition. As u will be driving for couple of hour, the tire will heat up quite substantially, this will in turn cause the repair to give way.(rather dangerous at high speed.) Do it this way if u r tight on budget, if not, just change for safety seek.

bro, is that the damage before or after repair? Looks damn serious. Better change it for the trip, ask for 2nd hand tire if u r tight, else change all four of them.

Anyway base on the picture, the tyre also going to EOL already.. quite worn off.. so just change lor.. can take it as change tyre abit eariler than usual.. and save trouble of thinking of will tyre give way when driving lor..

Not as if the tyre were brand new.. if brand new.. understandable will be very wasteful.. but urs.. take it as a reason for tyres for time to change already... [laugh] [laugh]

u already mention your family leh, and u mention 150km/hours. and u mention 'risk'

how long u plan the trip already? forget about the tyre blow and cause accident ( touch wood )

if minor c--k up like the tyre give way , u need change spare, or tow, or visit tyre shop there also spoil the trip right ?? lol
