Road tax and insurance renew issue

Hi,

Does anyone have the LTA number, I need to talk to someone, not go thru their recorded voice machine.

 

My problem is, road tax expired 31 August.

 

I renewed insurance and completed inspection at the end of July.

 

LTA sent me a letter saying if I do the above 2 steps before 26th August, they will Giro deduct from my bank account and send me a new disc.

 

But August 31 come and go, still no disc and they also not deducted from my bank a/c.

 

So I need to talk to someone in LTA to get this sorted.

Yah, that is the stupid number I called, it is just a series of automated messages, with no option to speak to operator.

 

Just go round and round!

erm....opc car case is different already. if you need more info you can PM me. Hard to explain here. Different insurer I believe different procedure in handling this kind of situation.

sure fail. they give u ample time to go for inspection. just like ippt, why u wait till last week or days. pass inspection then renew insurance then tax. if die die cannot pass u can scrap or sell your car, i believe it is coe car. then u dont waste your insurance money. imho

hi, there is a option to talk to the officer straight away when you called up the hotline.

 

Nope, last time there was, now, no more, just an endless loop of recorded messages option.

 

Anyway, I got this resolved.

 

You need to send them a message thru this link :

Leave your name and phone number and they will call you back, pretty promptly too, for me, they returned the call within the hour.

 

Just don't dial that stupid hotline!

Hi Guys, my inspection due on 15th August, my road tax expires on 15th August. But my insurance expires on the 31st August, does that means that i cannot review my road tax until i renew my insurance?

 

ya

 

if i am not mistaken opc have to pay for the full year....unless u ask lta to pay half

 

so u have to pay almost a full year of insurance

 

unless u convert back to normal plate

What about my road tax expire on 30sep'2011 and insurance expire on 1march'2012. Do i still need to renew my insurance 1st, before i can renew my road tax? [rolleyes]

 

yes insurance first
