no you cant. You are upsetting the geometry of the suspension set up and that will make your car unpredictable when driven at extreme.

 

Engineers have their reason for doing that in the 1st place.

well i'm incline to try new tires now since that eagle f1 assy 2 has up its price by a good 100bucks per tire since goodyear started selling the tires themselves and not thru the previous 3 authorised importers... gone are the days of affordable eagle f1 assy tires, so much so that dunlop star spec is cheaper than goodyear, and michelins are 20bucks more ex per tire... kumho takes the podium in terms of pricing but the wet range seems not very desirable. maybe i'll buy the michelins and a spare set of kumhos for track days...

 

keep a spare set for track ? mean u got 2 set of rims also? like that u might as well keep 1 set for normal street driving, and 1 set for track use only. u can consider dunlop 03g. tested them b4 it rocks. i saw my friend using fz201 on his evo. he say better then r888.

 

any way i think the star spec and kumho is abit like ad08, for ppl who go track some time, but can use on normal road also.

if u are more hard core got 2 set of rim, u can keep 1 set of pure track tyre liao .

Anyone knows where it's available?

Among all the best tyres, it's the only one with size 235/45 R18.

I don't want to affect my the handling characteristics with 225 or 245 width.

I'm currently on RE050A from stock.

This tyre should beat my old one hands down.

yes i have a spare set of rims at home. the kumho ku36 price is very good for 18 inch, so i thought maybe i can purchase a set and try them first, if it doesnt perform up to my expectations in the wet, i can keep them as a set of track tires and change to michelin super sport. as for track tires, cheap is good as they are abuse and wack,so no need to spend so much on them...comparing kumho ku36 at 270 with toyo r888 at 510, i rather go with kumho.

 

as for federal fz201 compared to r888, sorry i beg to defer. my mech used both tyres, fz201 ends up with lotsa wheelspin and no traction during drag racing....the r888 is much better and proven at launch, no wheelspins, power to the ground instantly and bites u down in every corner. i have sat in his car and experience it firsthand..

yah, mostly are reviews in europe......thinking of trying them, over the T1R, and the marangoni are a tad bit pricey over toyo....

oh u mean the italy tyre more expensive? lol i thought toyo should be higher? recently japan make tyre price is crazy .
