simple lah, change 2 tire at 1 time.... you can double up your exposure with tyres by double... the tyre at the rear doesnt really helps much, its the front tyre that makes the differents (FWD car). Of couse, when change tyre, it should be both front or both rear.... not 1 tyre from the front and another from the rear...

 

Also, change your tyre once its left with 20% (max you can utilise, I practice 25%). Never wait until it becomes "slick" tyre then change... tyre are not suppose to be 100% worn... downside is, this will also speed up your tyre changing rate by another 20%....

It depends on the usage of the car.

 

If you are in sales line or heavily utilize the car, then you are using your tires more than ever and thus higher wear and tear. Therefore, the lifespan would be shorter and change would be faster.

Quickly go see my current tyres and they are goodyear Asymmetric eagle F1 235/40r18 95y. i changed them last july (opps 1 year exactly liao), topup pressure once and haven't do anything to them till date! Travel 60-80km per day, think better go workshop and do a checking or rotating or something.

 

Usually workshop mechanic would advise you during your servicing (for example, when rotating your tyres).

 

It is good to keep tyres in optimal condition. Check their condition regularly, pump and maintain good enough air pressure within the tyres. Go for balancing and wheel alignment at stipulated intervals.

your car need tyres to run ard right unless u use your feet like flintstone....i think the other bro is asking what model is your car as your size is unusual....

I am aware of the tyre sizes i need for my car, and the aspect ratio for front n rear rolling radius to stay true to the speedometer. I'm running staggered profiles as its FR drivetrain

hi all, just a quick question.

If i have a tire let say 225 in the rear and 215/45 in the front. and i wanna rotate it. can it be 225 in the front and 215 in the rear? i know it sound strange but just wondering :angry:

paid a deposit for michelin pilot super sport, but am still divided between dunlop star spec and kumho ku36.... how do u think they compare in terms of wet/dry grip, and wear rate? noise isnt a factor to me. tks

personally i think the ku36 cannot be compare to the star spec.

 

the super sport is even way way abrove LOL.

there is a comparison by tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=118) and a test result video too. the kumho ku36 and dunlop star spec are considered extreme performance summer tires, ie they are good enuff to go on the occasionally track day and performance fairly on the wet.

 

as for the michelin pilot super sports, they are categorise as max performance summer tires, ideal for road/highway spirited driving (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=148). they are in the same category as re11, Pzero etc...

 

well i'm incline to try new tires now since that eagle f1 assy 2 has up its price by a good 100bucks per tire since goodyear started selling the tires themselves and not thru the previous 3 authorised importers... gone are the days of affordable eagle f1 assy tires, so much so that dunlop star spec is cheaper than goodyear, and michelins are 20bucks more ex per tire... kumho takes the podium in terms of pricing but the wet range seems not very desirable. maybe i'll buy the michelins and a spare set of kumhos for track days...

I was quoted 500 per piece for 265/35/18 for my rears, michelin super sports. Any reason for chosing s001? Is it because stock 370z came witg bridgestone re050?

I'm on 350z. Yeah the rears are currently on re050.

Thinking of changing to s001 because 1) its time, 2) heard good reviews about its performance handling in wet/dry, and quieter too.

Anyone knows if I can get the rears cheaper, pls let me know yo! Thanks in advance [:)]
