Speculation at this point.

But I am more interested to know why she was qualified to run TH in the first place. [rolleyes]

Ho Ching may step down in August: FT report

By Aaron Low

Asked about the report that chief executive Ho Ching is planning to step down, Temasek said it would not comment on speculation.

TEMASEK Holdings chief executive and executive director Ho Ching may step down in August, according to the Financial Times (FT).

The front-page report, quoting unnamed sources, said her departure could come soon after Temasek releases its annual report next month.

Temasek is expected to announce gains on its portfolio, which stood at $186 billion last year, when it issues the report for the financial year ending March 31.

Asked about the FT report, a Temasek spokesman said yesterday: 'We decline to comment on speculation.'

Ms Ho, 58, the wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, has been in the top job for eight years. She has ranked high on several lists of Asia's most powerful women.

Analysts said yesterday it would be as good a time as any for her to step down, although some fund managers were not convinced that Temasek would make such a big change now.

If one is not actually running the place, technically one does not have to be qualified. Title and actual responsibilities/abilities sometimes do not equate.

No matter how the media sugar coats it, it will end up backfiring and stink up her name.

Qualify or not, nobody will know unless more dan one person has taken up the position and moved on. But whatever they do they cannot prevent ppl from thinking she's there becos she's the wife of the pm.

i still think she looks like a man...

if i were married to her, i rather not go home and be a workaholic to try and solve all the problems that singapore is facing! [laugh][laugh] the problems will just be a temporary relief!:ph34r:

Well true to a point.

Most cases these people who don't get in by merit ends up running the place into the ground and getting golden parachutes for their effort. [laugh]

GIC senior management positions reshuffled recently... Real estate div included. LKY has also stepped down from chairman position. I think LHL is taking action in all aspects. I personally hope they start to post good news instead of those Tishman Speyer type news.
