Shor 1st Gear June 9, 2011 Share June 9, 2011 (edited) Recently my car tremble when it's on red light no matter I put the gear to D or N . I was wondering what went wrong. Was thinking that might be the engine mounting, what will be more likely? Any bros know? Any inputs appreciate. Thank you very much! If that's engine mounting, is it necessary to replace all four ? And what will be the costs like? Edited June 9, 2011 by Shor ↡ Advertisement
Royong Neutral Newbie June 20, 2011 Share June 20, 2011 encounter similar condition b4. The problem is the engine mount. But it is adviseable to look for specialist for your car model. Cause the mechanic (who specialise in my car model suzuki swift) recommend me to just change one of the engine mount as it is a common wear and tear for swift. if I go to other mechanic, most probably they will recommend me to change all three engine mount. 5936 1st Gear June 20, 2011 Share June 20, 2011 idling speed a bit low. For older conti car, it may be dirty idling controller. my 2 cents
Grimicer Clutched June 20, 2011 Share June 20, 2011 sounds a lot like engine mount issues, however, they have been recommendations to change all 4 engine mounts as if you change 1 engine mount and it does not solve the problem, you need to change the other 3 which is double labor charge. (and the labor charge is not cheap!)
Shor 1st Gear June 20, 2011 Author Share June 20, 2011 It's recommended to change all 3 or 4 at one time. Save the trouble and labor fee for the next time. sounds a lot like engine mount issues, however, they have been recommendations to change all 4 engine mounts as if you change 1 engine mount and it does not solve the problem, you need to change the other 3 which is double labor charge. Elevatorman Neutral Newbie June 21, 2011 Share June 21, 2011 The next time it happens, take a look on the RPM, does it drop when tremble. I think engine mount should not cause RPM to drop. Shor 1st Gear June 21, 2011 Author Share June 21, 2011 Mine RPM did not drop. But the tremble is minor, I just leave it. Actually engine mount is very cheap, but the labor is much more Expensive.
