did it state the cost? jsut wondering if it is that expensive? i have malaysian friends who say it is common for car thieves to have such scanning device.

 

i saw 1 really sophisticated 1 in China selling about sin50k.

 

a malaysian told me if u know how to modified, u can get something similar for US$60 on ebay.

I wonder whether wrapping the laptop with aluminium foil prevent detection by those scanner. The aluminium foil act as EMI shield.

She just did a stupid thing. How can leave valuables sighted? That is the most stupid things to do. Just came back from JB today and I make sure my friends leave nothing on the seat or side holster that hold belonging.

pad lock? they go for window and wind screen..mayy be you can change all glass to fence type used in police car....

My colleague in KL just got his laptop stolen. He said according to the Malaysia Polis, the theives have a scanner that works by detecting the battery. So they say you have to take out the battery - if you have no choice but to leave the laptop in the car. BTW, his was taken from his trunk, not visible at all. So must be some truth to the "myth".
