1fast1 Supersonic June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 (edited) As a Gurkha is disciplined for beheading a Taliban! Kukri lessons: The Gurkhas display their traditional weapon of choice http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-...k-God-side.html By Robert Hardman Last updated at 9:39 AM on 20th July 2010 Just picture the scene as a soldier returns from hunting an arch-enemy. Commanding officer: 'Did you get him?' Soldier: 'Yes, sir.' Commanding officer: 'Are you sure?' Soldier: 'Yes, sir.' Soldier reaches into rucksack and places severed head on table. Commanding officer: ' ****!' If it happened in a Hollywood movie, the audience would either laugh or applaud. But there was no laughter the other day when this happened for real in Babaji, Afghanistan, current posting for the 1st Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles. The precise circumstances will not be determined until an official report has been completed, but reliable military sources have confirmed that a Gurkha patrol was sent out with orders to track down a Taliban warlord described as a 'high-value target'. Kukri lessons: The Gurkhas display their traditional weapon of choice Kukri lessons: The Gurkhas display their traditional weapon of choice Having identified their target, a fierce battle ensued during which the warlord was killed. To prove that they had got their man, the Gurkhas attempted to remove the body for identification. Further enemy fire necessitated a fast exit minus corpse. So, an unnamed soldier drew his kukri - the standard-issue Gurkha knife - removed the man's head and legged it. Ten out of ten for initiative. Nought out of ten for diplomacy. Nato forces are supposed to be winning 'hearts and minds' and bolstering the fledgling Afghan National Army. This incident, however, has apparently appalled Afghans on all sides, not least because it offends the Muslim tradition of burying the dead with all body parts, attached or unattached. It transpires that the Gurkha soldier has been removed from operations and sent back to his barracks in Kent pending further investigations. Ministry of Defence sources have been quick to emphasise that the British Army is appalled by what has happened. According to one: 'There is no sense of glory involved, more a sense of shame. He should not have done what he did.' Those Taliban bastards support the videotaped, slow beheading of innocent civilians while they're alive, and they can't take a little postmortem decapitation of one of their own in a conflict? Arseholes and spoilsports. Behead 'em all, I say. Edited June 4, 2011 by Turboflat4 ↡ Advertisement

Yattokame 4th Gear June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 I remember reading about him here http://www.badassoftheweek.com/pun.html I seriously don't want to turn this website into Gurkha of the Week. I mean, honestly, I really don't. Sure, I have nothing short of an overwhelmingly unhealthy amount of respect for these Nepalese spike-devouring crotch-wreckers and their uncanny ability to routinely make the world a safer place by inserting their well-sharpened kukri blades into the softest parts of Democracy's enemies, but for the most part I generally prefer a little bit more variety when I write these stories up every week. In a perfect world, I'd like to jump around between daring tales of awesome high seas piracy one week, insane stories of Viking warriors cleaving faces apart with battle axes another, and wash it all down with some murderous gunslingers Swiss cheesing their foes with .45 caliber ammunition and World War II flying aces sending Me-109s spiraling to the turf in a hail of fire and bullets and dead Nazi pieces. That diversity is the sort of thing that keeps this entire process fresh, because if I wrote about the same stuff every single week most rational people would probably eventually get really f--king sick of hearing about the same thing over and over and over, and they'd start checking other sites and/or sending me bitchy emails about how I'm about as interesting as a judo chop to the throat. What I'm saying here is that the Gurkhas need to stop going out and doing ridiculously badass s--t every time I turn around, because that way I'll have a chance to write about something else on this website. Based on the insane story I'm bringing you this week, however, I'm fairly confident this is something that might never happen. I very badly wanted to just work a bunch of terrible Puns into this article, but that would only Dipprasad the point of this article. Also I'm not very good with puns. It was a long, cold evening in September of 2010 when Acting Sergeant Dipprasad Pun of the Royal Gurkha Rifles was serving as the lone on-duty guard patrolling a small two-story, one-room outpost on the edge of the Afghan province of Helmand. The 31 year old non-commissioned officer, one in a long line of hardcore Gurkha soldiers who had served the British Crown since before World War II, quietly killed time sitting around with three of his buddies, just shooting the s--t or playing cards or doing whatever the f--k it is that badass soldiers do whenever they aren't clubbing fools to death with rifle butts or dancing the typewriter while crotch chopping sideways across the countryside. Just another quiet night in lovely Afghanistan. Or so he thought! (DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN!!!!!) Suddenly, out of absolutely nowhere and without any warning, a cow reared its head back and mooed REALLY f--kING LOUD. No s--t, folks, that's how this story starts
Renegade777 5th Gear June 4, 2011 Share June 4, 2011 (edited) What about yourself? what heroics acts have you performed? Unless of course, you didnt even serve NS. Yeah.....!!! He is slapping himself. Everyone of us served NS and that make us to be a soldier in times of war. Cannot imagine him criticising ownself and as well as other Singaporeans. The main bulk of soldiers come from people like us-NSmen aka reservist. And about the JB incident, war and getting rob is very different. Why compare ? Why risk life when money can be earn back in reality but war, you are force to fight and I believe many NSmen whether they are cowards in JB or elsewhere will pick up arms and fight for our family and friends coz everything is here. If you do not want to fight, then who is going to protect your love ones ? Simple fact Edited June 4, 2011 by Renegade777

5936 1st Gear June 5, 2011 Share June 5, 2011 A think they will look hard at the weapons and ammo supplyat the chkpt 400 is 2 belts of 200rds and not surprised he fired them in 15 min of contact. More like qty for single infantry soldier. Probably they will have to boost it up to 2 MG and at least 10,000 rounds. Plus force them to carry assault rifle. He was also lucky, MG did not jam. Pisces69 6th Gear June 5, 2011 Share June 5, 2011 Nepalese soldiers r known for their bravery n never say die attitude in the line of fire. Thats why many countries want them as their mercenary force to b the 1st to go into battle n weaken the enemy b4 the regular soldiers go in for the kill n take the glory. Putting too much weapons n ammo at a checkpoint is dangerous cos if the enemy get hold of it, its boom town Charlie for them n ty wil always try to capture those small checkpoints to capture the large amounts of weapons n ammo kept there. What is better is a good backup not far away which can b deployed to back up the CP if it comes under heavy attack.
Pisces69 6th Gear June 5, 2011 Share June 5, 2011 Another heroic Gurkha. There was another recent event also involving a brave Gurkha - I think he chased off/killed some train robbers. Can't remember the details. The bravery and martial competence of the Gurkhas is legendary. It's no wonder the FamiLee employs Gurkhas in their personal guard detail - they always keep the best for themselves. Or is it cos ty dont even trust Sporeans to guard them?
