5936 1st Gear June 2, 2011 Share June 2, 2011 (edited) Do you have the coordinates ( deg, sec..) in the Where am I? If yes it detected satellites, but can call up a map to match location. Try to change Map back to Singapore. Edited June 2, 2011 by 5936

5936 1st Gear June 2, 2011 Share June 2, 2011 Like handphone signal, the signal strength bar for 1350 is at top left corner. 4 green bars means very good signal. I am also using 1350. GPS not with me now, it is in car. I get back to you tomorrow. OKay? Or try the tools setting area,

Kb27 Supersonic June 2, 2011 Share June 2, 2011 i jus tried going to downstairs to test my GPS but to no avail no signal whatsoever, anyone knows how to change the map to a Singapore one ? The gps need to see a clear sky and locked onto the satellites. Check your satellite signal indicator. It should mostly green. Once it locked onto the satellite, it will match your current location to one of the maps available. Most likely, you have a map of SG + MY. The last known location is probably in MY. But you can't just go and force change it to SG location.

However, the signal still remains the same with one red bar or even no bar at all.. so any advices on what i should do to allocate the singal ? Shicyj Neutral Newbie June 2, 2011 Share June 2, 2011 if i remember correctly, the SG MY map is 1. so long as you can get a fix, it will bring you back into SG. try to move away from tall building and see if you get a fix. If no, you may have a lemon.

Try to bring the gps to a open area like a field where no building is blocking it. See if you can look at the satellite signal by touching the top left corner. If you still don't see any satellite signal or the bar turn green, probably your gps hardware is bad. Don't worry about the location first. If it doesn't detect any satellites and locked on, it is a useless expensive paperweight. Edited June 2, 2011 by Kb27

It's only after lock on than it suddenly turned green with 4 bar or more. Since this is yuour very 1st start up, have you waited more than 5 minutes? ↡ Advertisement
