I still stick with good old fashioned mechanical locks ....... no batteries required and no techno stuff ..... wonder what happens if water falls on it accidentally

This is a classic example. First code says there must be a mechanical means to release door lock during fire situation. 2nd, all spaces must have dual fire escape routes. Both failed leh.  [smallcry]

Sounds good. Definitely top of my list for a wooden door mortise lock.

Samsung got some QC issues.

Gateman is good, but no physical key part is a big issue.

imo no physical key is good because thief will not be able to pick the lock.

HDB typically has only one main door, no additional fire exit door. If fire is near door then where can you run ?

my living room and one of my bedroom faces the corridor. so if really need to, can open window and jump out to corridor.. hahahaha.....

i have been using samsung digital lock for 8 years+. so far no problem at all... i don't have gate as the gate will knock the handle of the digital lock.

Now I am planning to have the main door and wrought iron replaced. Wish to install digital locks on the need door and gate. Any recommendations for shops and brands of digital locks to use?
