Actually daily also open la, only monday considered as a "rest" day so not much trawlers come in.

Go on friday midnight/sat early morning will have good catch of fishes, and usually after 3am will be very crowded.

Those outside ones, song fish, pacific all usually sell frozen fishes. Take your pick. [cool]

Unless you are buying in bulk, its not worth the effort. "Best Time" is from 2-4am. If u go from 4am onwards, there's nothing much left.

Wear a covered waterproof footwear, just beware floor are slippery and you need to be careful not knock in the edges of the buckets / crates.

Best time to go is around 3.00am.

Too early, they are unloading their catch and by the time they are settled with the dealers, its around 3.00am.

I used to buy from fishery ports (include the one at Attap Valley Road off Admiralty Road West) but gave up unless you buy in bulk which I did during CNY time where I bought in baskets of large Blue Tail Prawn (Swa Loh, 25kg per basket), Red Grouper (20kg - 12 pcs), Sea Bass (18kg - 10 pcs) and shared with friends. Imagine, you have to wake up early to go to the port and choose those baskets yourself.

Some do sell in pcs but almost in market rate (price) and thereby not worth the trouble going early in the morning to buy from fishery ports.

If you are going, remember to bring along big pails or styrofoam boxes to store your purchase or your car boot would smell of fishes if you use their big plastic bags. Wear bermuda cos you bound to get fish stain from the wet floor.

Happy buying ...... [:)][:)]

can slowly walk in after park your veh. Usually I park outside coz no lots inside.

Go for kopi and some snacks/fried bee hoon there at the canteen, then go over to choose the fishes.

As mentioned by other bros here, the trawlers come in later so if you wana more varieties can wait a little while more.

Minimum purchase is at least 1-2kgs, so be prepared, or get order lists from your relatives/friends to share the cost.

Btw I remember we have a resident fish expert in MCF who is a towkay in JFP...where is he huh? I think MO bro should know. [:p]

do they allow phototaking?

No problem, they even allow Mediacorpse to go filming donkey years back...

But be careful of where you stand as the area is slippery. Rubber boots/crocs is essential.

Oh ya, wear those clothings that you do not want already coz after from the trip you will smell like a "fish"... [laugh]

Also do not block the helpers pushing the trolleys along the aisle. Will kena "*&^(&^(*&"...one... [laugh]
