Anyone knows or have tried fitting 205/45 or 225/45 tyres to the stock Forte 17" rims? thinking of changing the Solus tyre to Eagle F1 Asym but there's no 215/45

Why not get other brands that got your size.?215/45-17 is a VERY common size, many good brands got this size, why insist on Goodyear Eagle F1.?

why don't you just stick back with 215/45?

i heard stories about the fiat bravo where owners put in over sized tires and the car can't corner correctly after that, not sure how true though

What is the rim width of the stock forte rims?

215/45 is actually a very common size.

don't expose me leh [laugh]

joking aside, F1 symmetrics have received shining reviews everywhere. I don't want to risk my life on 4 pieces of cheap rubber. the alternative is Hankook V12 Evo or Michelin PS3 but I would prefer F1 Asym if possible

Never heard before,GoodYear tires are that good....Anyway,your car is just 1.6L,with 17 inches rim & tires, you won't easily go out of control.

revisting this thread.
i am currently using the 215/45 profile.
i was thinking of going to 225/45
or 215/50 for my new shoes.

will that make the ride softer?

You go for the 50 profile, your speedometer and trip computer will go haywire.

hmm... you may have a point there.

looking at the tire diameter for 17" rims,

current 215/45 = 17*25 + 215*0.45 = 521.75

possible 225/45 = 17*25 + 225*0.45 = 526.25

possible 215/50 = 17*25 + 215*0.50 = 532.5

Thanks for pointing that out.

oversight.  [:p]
