SlowSteadyEvony Neutral Newbie June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 I feel Lucky not to be insure by AVIVA, they dont insured performance car. Think with this threadtopics, they can loose many custormers already. Who will pay insurance without getting insured? Not many cars on road driving stock rims in spore. This looks more like a scam, with no transparancy. Really appreciate and feel sorry for this bad experience driver, to let whole spore knows which insurer to avoid in future. I'm really relief and grateful to this thread starters. they do insure performance car like evo,rex & etc.... But once u got into trouble they will straight wash hand say that yr car modified even it lta approve....they will say by the look of my eyes it not factory stock bone.. How to be in stock bone condition when performance car are already on the road for 5yrs so if we bought 2nd hand.... Very good at playing with words & cheating their costumer.. ↡ Advertisement

S2077s 1st Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 The thing is..... sometimes somethings are considered "modifications", sometimes, somethings are not. There is no consistency and sounds like AVIVA simply play by ear and takes sides which benefits themselves rather than have a corporate outlook which considers their underwiriting as an obligation to their policy holders. Today big hoo hah.... sports rims becomes accepted modification. Another day, when no one makes a noise, sports rims becomes a "modifiction". And this is exactly the problem isnt it? Hyundai Verna insurance voided cos got sport rims as one of the mod. Then big hoo hah, people write in and suddenly sports and air filter becomes an acceptable item No transparency, no consistency, and no intergrity. Make money ok ok.... lose money.... NO WAY. Pay for your own s--t. The real problem is the over-inflated claims from workshops. Not these tiny nitty gritty "modifications" which car owners do to personalise and enhance their own cars. Why AVIVA want to offer super low ball low price policies? Simple... to earn more money, gain bigger market share, and eliminate competition. How they achieve this? Simple......accept money from car owners when nothing goes wrong, VOID all possible claims based on contractual and legal loopholes whenever applicable. Maybe that is how they end up being one the biggest insurers out there...... We all become ants and AVIVA baited us..... we paid them some money and they gave us a pot of poison to bring home. Hopefully we will all die along the way and they just earn our keeps. Its like we are buying insurance, but i tink we need to buy more insurance to insure against this insurance... cham

S2077s 1st Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 I think we should all VOID AVIVA...... wonder if one day a bone stock car bangs straight on into the most expensive Ferrari in Singapore. What contractual loophole would they dig up to "VOID" their coverage and leave the poor man to become a bankrupt overnight. I shudder on this thought. Claims are limited to a certain figure, say $400,000.00. The rest, pay yourself.

Dalenico 1st Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 To be fair to Aviva, I emailed them once I got wind of this case. They replied promptly, reiterating about the modications issue but asked me to list down my mods. I told them I have sports rims and changed air filter and they replied that they will cover in event of accident but for the mod parts, they will only cover to factory specs. I think this is quite fair plus their customer service is prompt. Maybe bros here insured with Aviva would like to clarify with the insurer direct first before condemning them? well, i did ask them can i upgrade to a bigger rims and tires? They said no..only accessories like sunfilim is allowed..think they are doing damage control now..
Vooth 2nd Gear June 8, 2011 Share June 8, 2011 I think they are taken aback by the backlash I can emphatise with most here, never like insurance....they only offer umbrella when the sun is shining and take it back when it starts to rain
SlowSteadyEvony Neutral Newbie June 9, 2011 Share June 9, 2011 Even a small amount of claim they dunt help to settle the claim but find fault with the customer indeed..aim for their car for modification...

Autofanatic Neutral Newbie June 9, 2011 Share June 9, 2011 Technically, they can void cus by upsizing the wheels, it is already different from stock state which may in turn affect the drive which may result in an accident. Unfair? no doubt about it
