Why don't you top up $20k on each model and get the E-Class straight?

I don't quite get the new C-Class pricing.

let me say this on behalf of some forum users here: are you stupid or what?

have you driven the c-class and e-class? besides the obvious exterior differences and physical size, the drive is also very different, due to the platform and chassis they are built on.

people who are shopping for the above 2 cars belong to 2 different types of consumer behaviour and preferences.

why not all of us top up abit more.. abit more.. abit more.. keep going up the price ladder, and get a Ferrari California?

Don't worry, he is notorious in this forum. Keep misleading people with his "knowledge". His credibility is good as nothing.

He just don't get it, top up "just" 20K-30K? Its not a small sum in the first place. Also some prefer a smaller car and a more agile car as you have pointed out.

Just like my mom, my Alfa 159 she dare to drive, but my dad's car till now she don't even dare to to drive cause car is too big for her.

C250 with 204hp, 7 speed gearbox and 0-100 of 7.2 sec seems attractive. Can fight with the A4 2.0T

hey bro i thought A4 2.0T is 6.6s at least. assuming both C250 and A4 2.0T is not modded...yet.

bro, that's why I use the word fight, fight doesn't mean comfirm will win [:)]

A4 2.0T vs C250 1.8T

for a 1.8T the performance is already not bad.

volvo's 2.0T engine @ 200Hp only hit 0-100km/h in about 8++ sec [crazy]

Agreed that topping up bait here/there is no end. But here perhaps the contention is really C250 priced to close to a E200. Apology, I do not know what's the price of the E class, but I guess a C250 could be close to the entry E class.

E class is generally reckon as a class above C class, not considering high C vs entry E lah. Just like a 5 series higher than a 3 series.

Would the tuners be able to up the 156bhp C180 CGI to C200 or even C250 equivalent? Would there be problems with warranty?

I think the differences between C180 CGI, C200 and C250 are minimal, if not none. I would be hesitant to pay extra if I could simply get a C180CGI and go to a tuner to get the same power.

Was very impressed with the looks and quality, both exterior and especially interior. Tested the C200 over the weekend and found it very nimble for day to day commute. The ride was more comfortable, quieter and the car 'feels' faster than my 325i. Engine note was quiet pleasant for a 1.8litre 4 cylinder.

During the short test drive, things i didn't like was the extremely light steering and the halogen lights. Xenon light package cost $5,300!

How much would the comand system or AMG kit cost if we retrofit it? C&C charges quite high for these options!

hi bro

COMAND i install for owners so ill can PM you with the details if you are interested the price is much much much better than anything you'll get from C&C

Well tuning is possible but just think of it this way... if you want to reach a higher level of performance from a lower specced unit then you will need to mod more. But if you're asking if you can mod a C180 to the same level as a modded C250 then the answer is a firm no. There are quite a few factors to this first of which being the ECU. I can explain more in detail if you pm me.

The steering is parametric and will firm up as you increase in speed.

The bi-xenons come with the LEDs as well as some other fancy stuff under the intelligent light package thats why it is so expensive! As for the AMG kit, you should go with factory as it gives you paddleshifts, rims,a nicer caliper and drilled rotors and most of all a manual mode that you cant easily fit. Other additions include the lower, stiffer suspension and bodykit

Neutral Newbie

Hi People,

Does anyone has any idea if Cycle & Carriage would start brining in Mercedes Benz E-250 with the 7G-Tronic drive package?

I've seen PI E-250 with 7G Tronic on Singapore roads already.

Thanks.

TS u will not regret getting a merc lah. Go for it. IMHO I feel that for daily drive a FL c180cgi will be good liao coz 7gtronic else c200cgi is the tuned up version while c250 iirc has another turbo to boost the output to 204bhp.

All 1.8L good for roadtax but I also feel the 1.6L one is great too although 5sp only. The build and quality of material is worthy of the 3pt star even for the c180k blue efficiency model.

Getting a merc is about arriving in class, no rush just get push along by it's rwd.

IMHO, don't bother with the 1.6 lor - the engine sounds very stressed to cope with the heavy body...

At the very least, go for the C200 bah - I am also tempted to swap my K for the CGI but I got my K for a very good price - not worth changing at current prices [:(]

hope some gurus that had walked this past shed some lights to me.
