Yeobh 4th Gear May 27, 2011 Share May 27, 2011 Gear 1 is engaged while stationery and therefore is direct gearing without via sycho-mech. Over time it may be difficult to engage as the gear teeth and gear linkage wear out. Press and release the clutch few times may help to align the input shaft gear and the 1st gear drive. The same apply to reverse gear
