Hi all,

I am having difficulty shifting in to gear 1 and reverse gear; often it would result to grinding of the gear. Do note that I have fully clutched in. Any expert advice on the remedy or is it the gear box up the lorry already.

Thanks for reading

Best regards,

What is your mileage.?Can be the clutch plate worn out or the clutch pump's pressure not enough.

For my ride, the manual instruct to wait for 2 secs after clutch-in, before selecting reverse gear. On 1 ocassion that I forgotten, the gears will create a grinding noise. So far, gear 1 is ok.

Gear 1 is engaged while stationery and therefore is direct gearing without via sycho-mech. Over time it may be difficult to engage as the gear teeth and gear linkage wear out. Press and release the clutch few times may help to align the input shaft gear and the 1st gear drive.

The same apply to reverse gear

Looked like gearbox needs repair/replacement.

Before you spend $ operate your gear box, why not change your gear oil, see if it helps.
