Chpeck Clutched May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 Below is the list of "Sports" car commonly found in Singapore road. Almost all the Japanese ones can't do 0-100 under 10 sec or above 200km/hr. As for Golf, the real "Sport" should be the R32 rather than this junior, despite fast but still entry level machine. What does the "Sport" tell you? To highlight that particular car model is NOT a Sports Car and Please don't handle like one? Mightymito 1st Gear May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 For Jap cars if they use the word sport its damned sure its not a sports car. For Conti cars theres a chance that it would be a turbo
Mike1234 1st Gear May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 Actually normal B&B cars which are named as "sports" model normally just some sportier body kit, rims, much improved interior.... However in performance cars like STI, Evo, 911,etc... These sports edition normally sports "enhanced engine", "enhanced tuning","enhanced suspension"

Mike1234 1st Gear May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 It means you pay more for the same sh.i.t actually not...If u are talking abt performance cars... i wont mind paying more for them as they are tuned &certified by their specialist.... Rather than going to some other workshops...
Acieed 1st Gear May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 (edited) For cheap cars, it could just mean adding sunroof, spoiler or alloy rims. Same engine, so more weight, slower car. Nothing very sporty. :-) Insurance subject to company's own assessment. High performance cars without "sports" wording can also have higher premium. Coupecabriolet Clutched May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 out of any 10 cars that have the word "sport" in their trim or model name, only 1-2 probably is faster than the original model or make. the rest is just appearance differences that make the car look faster (mostly uglier) lol. Nissan latio also have sport leh!
Pocus Turbocharged May 25, 2011 Share May 25, 2011 "Sport" in VW/Suzuki models = Factory tuned-up version of the based model. Tweaks include in the engine/suspension/gearboxes with sport trims. Sold with "sport" tag even in Mainland country. performance/handling/etc ranges from slightly to very different compared to base model. "Sport" in Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota models = "sports" version tagged by local AD. Include trims and bodykits to make it sporty. The handling/engine/suspension are basically the same as base model. They are not "sport" models even in japan. ↡ Advertisement
