That is why feedback is very important.

I am glad to know you understand feedback is important and should be listened to. However, for the past umpteen years, the gahmen refused to believe feedback at all, and ignored all else but what they wanted to hear. Now they say they want feedback. Let's see if this is really true.

I think we need to sticky this thread... and revisit in a few months time to see if any of these predictions come true, and we all get raptured.

I don't really care if MP takes public transport, or the time which he takes it.

But the MP really need to do something about the public transport. It's really bad.

yes.. that's the idea.. we need to give minister feedback so that they would know how to tackle it and not complain and not doing anything. Seriously speaking, sometimes it is not about one person do the job he is good. Sometimes is about teamwork. Ok how does teamwork bring to this picture of minister? I take it as we singaporeans is like got many different ideas and minds and we singaporeans need to work together with minister to shape a better singapore. If we do not do that that what for we call singapore a home ? Like that we can call singapore just a steping stone to earn $ and just to get up position and backstep people? And if something goes very wrong and migrate to other country?

When it comes to discharging of work responsibilities, there are a few types of people:

1. Proactive, always seeking to make things happen.

2. Reactive, waiting for things to happen before taking action.

3. Dead fish, no reaction regardless what happens.

For years, people complain our govt is like dead fish, whatever feedback is ignored and people's concerns are not addressed. Now, when the heat is on, they are forced to take action, ie become reactive. Ultimately, what we citizens want to see is a proactive govt, who try ways and means to improve the lives of the citizens.

Let's watch and see what happens in the coming year or two.

looks wayang to me.. the bus looks really empty.. still got empty seat in front with space for him to stretch his arm out and read newspaper... when was the last time anyone took a bus during peak hour with that kind of luxury.. wonder what bus service is that

how about taking a feeder bus to interchange from 8 to 8.15 and then try to squeeze in the train going to the CBD after the bus transfer?

If 6 elected AP MPs can do such wonder to PAP, I want to have 33.3% seats given to APs then

I think he is try to show something but apparently it backfired cause he probably chose the wrong timing to take public transport perhap if he have been spotted squeezing in a crowd train or bus that may have been more appreciated since in truth public transport is real bad at peak hour to city

Than I ask you a question, if one day you become a minister and everything push to you and you got no where to start. How are you going to start working on things? First of all, the person who decides to lead the country must, before he does so, first have the abilities to solve problems regardless he's alone in coming up with solutions. Entering politics is not like a walk in the park. If he doesnt have what it takes, which includes working unter pressures and adversaries, complaints, best he doesnt enter politics at all. Facts of life, and it's not for those who are faint-hearted and only like the good things (fames, 'high pay', glories, etc) of high office. He must be committed to serve people including both supporters and complainants. In short, he must be capable and he must persevere. It's not a fairy-tale life.

Solve the problem yourself? No right.. surely something must triggle it to happen and surely one person do the job is impossible. That is why feedback is very important. A minister has a team of experts employed to help him solve problem eg LTA transport experts, both local and expats. He's never alone. Feedbacks from the common men are always there, but he must not take them as a given, it's a privilage to receive feedbacks, not an enttilement. The sooner he relises this, the better. And, he shouldnot treat complaints as a bad thing and tries to suppress them, instead complaints are also a form of feedbacks, I am sure you can agree to this.

Le'ts not talk about past performance as past MBT, LSS etc all gone, and new minister and reshuffle the whole cabinet. How are they going to start from stratch? Everyone must and can learn from history, what we are saying here are not ancient history, it's some mistakes made in recent years which impacted the life of the common men adversely not in a small way. All politicians need reminders not to repeat the same mistakes. Our ministers are mentally stronger than you think and dont need you to defend / shield them from complaints. Are you treating them as 5-yr olds?

The why you put thing is that like if you are the boss, you hire the person and you expect the person to do things all by himself ( Ok can do work by himself but only to certain limit ). I mean there will be point of time the person will need help so where does these help come from? If everyone has this selfish thought, Singapore will never progress anymore and become stagnent. Again, you are putting words into my mouth. I would like the common men give feedbacks to the new ministers, but I would not stop the same men complain because just as they have suffered under wrong policies / rules, they have the basic right to voice their views, even repeat them. I take this as allowing others a chance to have an outlet to let go their frustrations. If I dont like reading complaints, I would rather skip this thread instead of trying to gag others who complain here. It's a free world, you can choose to read or skip anything being written. Of course you can write here to gag others, it's your right too. By the way, if you choose not to complain, you do not need to stop other who choose to do so. The world is big enough for differing views and ways to react to bad policies.
