Hypersonic

They are also using Amaron batteries from Namwah. Price definitely more ex than going to tyre shop and change. If you are changing battery for preventive purpose, go to tyre shop better. Can even change at Namwah itself.

Only advantage is the extra 3 mths warranty but battery rarely fail before the 15 mths anyway. My previous Amaron lasted me 2 and a half years before it died.

My car 2nd battery is AA [Koppeke @S$170] since 7/8/2008. Condition still very good, can start engine with 1 crank, even in cold Genting morning temperature.

Changed to new AA [same Koppeke, but @S$178 less S$10 voucher] on 23/5/2011.

Since AA do free batt testing for AA member, called them on 23/5/2011. Load-test voltage 11.0V. Mechanic say not so good liao, better change, but up to you lah.

Have been hearing online comments about average lifespan 2yrs. Furthermore, I frequent Genting and JB, and imagine the trouble of flat battery in foreign land. In SG, no problems becos AA can usually responded to flat battery within 45~60 mins.

After self analysis, decided to change for peace of mind.

Load-test of new battery 11.5 V [crazy]

Ya, change a new one for the peace of mind. But AA is the service.....the batt isn't cheap comparing to others. Went shopping just now for batt. Was recommend the Amaron DARK green one. So far this is the best, friend in tyre shop said so. He said the light green one, not so durable now.
