Hi all,

I starting this thread to let other drivers know and be aware of other vehicles spotted on the road with either only 1 or no(zero) brake light working.

These vehicle can easily cause accident to the driver behind.

I spotted a silver taxi, SHD1310H, on sunday morning.

It had no working brake lights at all. I followed it 2 junctions and videoed it.

Video as from my youtube on it.

Last time I saw a car like that I jumped out at the junction and told the driver...chances are he doesn't know, so videoing no point, do something about it!

I realized for Sonata cabs, their third brake light always not working. Out of 10 got 7 I think! Go notice! Wondering if it's on purpose.

that's why i never change all my brake light bulb at the same time. Each bulb 2-3 months apart.

For front headlight, can change both bulbs together.

If down, still can turn on fog light.

The problem with these cabs having their brake lights blew, from the way I see it is because, they are automatics. Why? Automatics have the tendency to creep, so the driver has to apply brakes to stop it fully unless they pull handbrake or put to 'P' or 'N'. Since taxi spend most time on the roads, and since they are mostly automatics, the percentage of the brake lights lighted up are much more than any of other lights, hence the higher percentage of lights failing. Perhaps information the relevant taxi companies are doing frequent maintenance check on the brake lights for their cabs.

Other than just cabs alone, I also believe that most automatics will have shorter brake lights life span because of the brake usage to prevent the car from creeping. So have these lights checked.

I have seen a suzuki swift weaving in and out of the lanes in TPE a week back and tailgating without his headlights on at around 8 PM. Though his driving is reckless, i just want to point him that he forgot to switch on his headlight which is dangerous for others and to him. That too travelling at more than 120kmh (i was at 110). In this scenario, how you will let the other person know that to switch on his headlight?? I do want to catch him up and tell to him, but eventually if he thought that i am tailgating him then he might even go faster and may eventually end up in accident, so let him to his fate.

Bro from the videos you have posted, I agree there are many idiots driver out there. Let the police do the job no need to speed up just to video and show that the taxi light is not working, instead why not infrom the taxi on the spot.

Don't treat everyone on the road as enemy and use the video footage as a weapon. With reference to

From the background I can hear the following statement" I will put u on the net"

Above is my personal opinion.

Chill and enjoy ur ride

what is creep? your post is rather strange. A bulb is a bulb, they have certain lifespan before burnt out, just like the bulbs or florescent lights around us. Unless it is the switch that is faulty thus causing all brake lights not to light up when brakes are depress.
