Donut Supercharged May 18, 2011 Share May 18, 2011 To PM Lee or the person assigned to read on behalf of PM, You have taken a bold step to revamp your cabinet. And Singaporeans are being assured that you do listen to our problems. We also hope that you are able to relook into the salaries of the cabinet. Singaporeans feel unjustified towards the amounts of salaries that are being paid and the performance. Having a realistic salary range will keep checks and balances on the real motivations of ministers and potential MPs wanting to serve the people of Singapore, as a Public Servant. Thank you. ↡ Advertisement

Perhaps you like to write to the PM yourself instead, to avoid any mis-interpretation. I believe those from GRCs should be halved, since there are malingering opportunities among them. Those from SMC can be value-for-money as it is.

Donut Supercharged May 19, 2011 Author Share May 19, 2011 Ur reply suddenly made me see/guess the words. Brave man Its nothing brave, bro. Its an issue that the entire SG is talking about. Its not a secret or taboo to talk about. If we sense something not wrong, we shld bring it up. Nothing wrong with it, as long as you do it in a civil way; not in a wailing or screaming manner. BTW, those salaries are our Tax $$, and it affects us directly.... So why shouldn't we talk abt it? We wouldnt want to pay anything unnecessarily, right? Kb27 Supersonic May 19, 2011 Share May 19, 2011 Will you cut your own pay ? When PM does indeed bring minister salary to more realistic level, let's see how many dirty rats will jump the sinking ship. Who is left behind who is really there to serve the people ? When PM does indeed bring minister salary to more realistic level, let's see how many dirty rats will jump the sinking ship. Who is left behind who is really there to serve the people ? most pple dont think so much lah, they see ministers earning over 10x their annual salary face turn red and green alr. so many problems in the world yet some pple concern themselves with issues such as this is laughable. We wouldnt want to pay anything unnecessarily, right? ok. lets assume an average pay for all minsters to be 1M per annum. lets round up the number of pple drawing that pay to 50 so = 50M per year of tax payer money. Lets assume only 3 out of 5 M pple here pay taxes therefore everyyear each person pays $17 (rounded up). So are you saying you are standing up for a $17 dollar savings in minsterial pay when a meal at sushi teh averages $20? ↡ Advertisement
