yea...

tats why i think this clearly highlights that no matter how high u pay...

It's still unable to prevent corruption...

Unless, we have stricter rules&regulations..

notice, nowadays there's been such cases

[shakehead]

when the hand is itchy, no matter how high are paid, you will still touch the money.

its about checks and process..... not pay....

sorry i am wrong... i will repent.

Ex-principal accused of misappropriating nearly S$150,000

SINGAPORE: A former principal of Maris Stella High School has been charged with misappropriating S$148,539.85 between May 2004 and September 2009.

64-year-old Anthony Tan Kim Hock, who retired in 2009, allegedly committed the offence in the school on 21 separate occasions.

13 of the charges involve a man known as Peter Lim, believed to be a relative and is said to be in his 30s.

Tan allegedly used S$44,860.80 from the school management committee as well as the Director-General of education school fund accounts to pay for items such as seven of Mr Lim's overseas school trips and an open water diving course in Pulau Tioman.

Tan is also accused of misappropriating another S$34,000 which was donated to the school.

Another charge involved him allegedly misappropriating S$2,000 which was donated to three retired Marist brothers.

Besides these, Tan is believed to have done the same with S$67,679.05 from the school's chapel building fund account.

Tan is out on a bail of S$40,000 and is represented by lawyer, Dr Koh Hai Keong.

The case will be mentioned again on June 16.

Any laptop or netbook will do right?

Hear that there staff that disagree with what he do will get weeded out by him and his middle managers!

Sounds like you're right.

Heard that school is more "politics" than other org. Maybe is due to dealing with many peoples: staff, students and parents.

The principal is like a "Emperor" in the school. If he/she likes U, you will go very far. If not, "D" is reserved for U.

where else can u find a large concentration of intellects with degrees/masters/phds in a working environment. Naturally they will be looking for advancement and sacrificing others on the way! but i have friends who only wants to be HOT (hardwoking ordinary teachers) but are always under the management's radar. Only a few of these management circle are there through sheer hardwork. [gossip][gossip]

Don't know how true, 1 of my teacher friend said that every year ranking, 5% of the staff must get "D". A "D" means no bonus and if too many times, will get sack.

If 100 staff, 5% means every year 5 teachers must get "D" regardless if everyone is on par with everyone. That's really inflexible!

true to a certain extent! only management get to decide who gets a 'D' and 'D' means u are doing your duty and responsibilties. To get no bonus just bcos one is doing his/her job is quite ridiculous aint it [hur][hur] 3 'D' in a row and u will get an invitation for coffee in Hq! [smallcry]
