Ya u sud try to dry it asap. The longer its wet inside, the more damage. Try to salvage, otherwise u need to get a replacement.
Darryn Turbocharged May 9, 2011 Share May 9, 2011 I would go get replacement asap. Even if sun dry will probably fail sooner than later....

Mcf777 Turbocharged May 9, 2011 Share May 9, 2011 (edited) if it is a stand alone remote control (no key attach), the replacement is cheap la. My previous G9 also same suitation. Went to Liang Siong to get a new remote using my 2nd remote to deuplicate. I think 20 or 30. Something like that. If the remote comes together with car key, it will cost at least 300-500 for some conti car. Edited May 9, 2011 by Mcf777
Mydotcom 1st Gear May 9, 2011 Share May 9, 2011 The iKey in my previous ride went swimming TWICE.... Cost me $180 to replace it. I think you should replace it, since it's gonna fail sooner or later. Mine still worked the next morning, but by evening, it gave up
Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 9, 2011 Share May 9, 2011 my toyota car key went swimming in the washing machine, now it keeps sending signal..... should i open the case and sun it dry.... My toyota remote went swimming in the sea once, when I forgot to take it out of my shorts before I went swimming at east coast beach. Only realised it was in my pocket when I went to change some hours later. I went home and dismantled the remote - found it full of seawater and the battery started to corrode. I removed the battery - washed the dismantled pieces in tap water to remove the salt. And used hair dryer to dry off quickly. Then I bought a new battery and tested - and voila, it worked! That happened 6 years ago. Till today the remote still works. Of course, every year or so changed battery.

Watwheels Supersonic May 9, 2011 Share May 9, 2011 (edited) Actually you should spray a teeny bit of WD30 to the circuit chip to expel the soapy water or else expose to air it will accelerate the corrosion process to the components and circuit.
