PAP vs WP - The REAL Indicator

After this election, I seriously think that we are moving towards a 2-party system.

WP with credible candidates has been the REAL DEAL so far compared to the rest of the opposition parties.

For people to vote for them, it is not just about PAP's unpopular policies that they are against but also the trust and believe in WP. They have scored an average of 46.7%, consolidating Hougang SMC and winning Aljunied GRC. To me, this is the REAL indicator people are slowly moving towards supporting a good opposition party.

Let's hope they get above 50% in the next election so that we can move towards a FIRST WORLD PARLIAMENT!

Yes, especially when I see Reform Party, I think they are pathetic.

LHL got a higher percentage this round while the rest of the GRCs percentage fell. It is flattering because they were not better but the opposition was crappy.

Let's watch if PAP leadership is really going to transform the party.

still have misgivings on CSM..hope he prove me wrong

Just out of curiosity, what do you actually need to see in order to be convinced?

One of my friends also mentioned that he had misgivings about CSM but when pressed for it, he couldn't articulate why. In the first place, he knew nothing about CSM outside of what was reported in the mainstream media, so perhaps he's not the best example of an informed voter.

A person's ability to be a good politician comes from his heart and intention in joining politics. Not solely on private sector experience and etc.

Likewise, a voter's choice is influenced by a myriad of factors. I for one do not agree with galantzspeed's stance.

Certainly, provided the rules of the competition is fair and set by a neutral body. No teams will want to compete in a league where one team is favored over the rest. Worse, no fan will want to support such a competition unless they are plain ignorant.

Under such circumstances, WP can still win, its really quite incredible. You need to be average to win for pap, but for opposition, u need to be way better.

We still get some ppl who think they've voted for the best when the 'best' got it made easy for them.

This election produced some credible winners, some simply incredible, and others a plain farce.

it will be very difficult for him to openly criticise his team's policy if he remain in p&p, so I will still vote for him even if he joins opps

The only transformation i see is when the party splits. But that will only come when someone goes.

Likewise, a voter's choice is influenced by a myriad of factors. I for one do not agree with galantzspeed's stance.

And just to add on, his ability to stay true to his ideals and not sell out at the slightest hint of difficulty. If dialogues with Vivian Balakrishnan from over 8 years ago are to be believed, he clearly does not possess this.

Neither do I agree, but I'm hoping that unlike my friend who doesn't seem to know why he has misgivings about the politically unproven CSM but supports the proven screw-ups like MBT, galantzspeed would be able to categorically state what's wrong with CSM and exactly what would convince him otherwise. Because if it becomes impossible to convince someone that his opinion is unjustified, there is no sense in talking or doing anything more with such a closed mind is there...
