Parkingidiot 1st Gear May 23, 2011 Share May 23, 2011 It's possible that your shield plan is outdated then OR you have a lousy insurance agent. There are many plans that cover the co-insurance and something else that the CPF medisave shield plan does not cover. I have myself 100% covered so in the event of any illness or accident, I do not have to pay anything. Of course the yearly premium is $2000+ but I can even go to private hospitals and see the best doctors there. If you were to ask me, I don't know why he had to pay at all. Maybe it was a parking charge! nice sarcasm... but missed the whole point ALTOGETHER. Perhaps you should read the question first before shooting off .... NO INSURANCE. Only Medisave/Medishield/Medifund as the criteria. ↡ Advertisement

Your premium plan is 100% not under the 3M framework. BTW how long have you been on your premium plan? just curious, coz it's very high.. I below 40yrs and paying around S$600+ yearly thru prudential. No drink no smoke. Allow to stay in government/private hospital. Every year can claim maximum around S$350,000 and the best thing is they wont kick you out even though you are diagnoise with some serious illness. The policy will still continue every year +- the same price. (if i remember conrrectly)

BTW how long have you been on your premium plan? just curious, coz it's very high.. I think he meant $200+. There are additional plans that cost $200+ annually and it covers everything else your shield doesn't. Anybody on good relationship with KBW? Please ask him to enlighten everybody on how he manage to cut his bills to $8 with 3Ms in an "A" class ward. I'm not coming from the political point of view but really sincere in finding out how to cut my healthcare coverage to the lowest but yet sufficient not to burn a big hole from medical bills. And I seriously think $8 for a bypass in "A" class is really fantastic

Mcf777 Turbocharged May 24, 2011 Share May 24, 2011 (edited) Due to my recent bad experience at GOVT Hospital. Cannot do this cannot do that. All have to go by the book. Going thru Private hospital is just like a-la-cart menu. You can specify what u want and tell them that you want to claim insurance. Some type of sickness cannot claim insurance. The doctors will know how to go round the loop and write the report. That's why i decided to pay the extra to give me more choices. Dont even need to waste time waiting for so and so doctors. Zniper 2nd Gear May 24, 2011 Share May 24, 2011 OK, if that is the case, that means KBW he himself know that medical bills in Singapore is too expensive, that's why he purchased a high coverage insurance policies, and does he understand that, not all Singaporeans can afford to buy that kind of high premium policies. And if I am not wrong, insurance companies do not pay GST right? I underwent a minor kidney stone surgery last year, I need to pay my own GST out of pocket. dan i tink the $8 he paid is gst alone only lor... haha
Shiraz 1st Gear May 24, 2011 Share May 24, 2011 Yup it's true mine is not a 3M plan.. but I really don't recall KBW stating that 3M plans can cover it to that extent. Personally, I don't think it's possible. :) The plan I have is not a sole shield plan.. it's an investment + bla bla bla covers travel insurance + helicopter evac(which is quite expensive) and don't know what else. I used to have a $300+ plan but I find it disturbing that the money will go to waste if I don't claim anything. With this one, I can have the option to withdraw everything with additional $$$ from the investments for my retirement (since we all know we won't be seeing our CPF money!) :) ↡ Advertisement
