Is SPC fuel quality#%&@?

When I use different brands of petrol I can always feel the difference. But to my wife, there is always no difference, even when I put in fuel additives. Actually this can be easily proven scientifically, just measure your mileage accurately.

The best way is to do a blind test..ask anyone..perhaps your wife to fill up different brands of petrol without telling you..after which you drive & you may get more accurate results

Personally..there is no noticeable difference with any of the brands

Some brands will give you faster pickup. Actually I audit a number of fuel additives companies so there is quite a lot of technology involved but I am not a product specialist.

It is actually good if there is no noticeable difference for you because then there is no need for you to spend more money on V-Power etc.

I am currently using SPC 95.  Don't find much difference switching over from Esso.

The only significant difference I see is when my daughter drives my car I always get at least 50km less per tank.  So the main factor is the driver.

I pump usually SPC, sometimes Caltex, last time 98, nowadays 95 (....save money).....

SPC seems to give me more mileage, however Caltex is smoother......

70Km difference.?Are you sure.??? [lipsrsealed]

From the details given on motorcycle, 70km diff depends on idling time.

For small cc bike, idling is a waste of fuel. I too have a mid size bike for my hobby. I pump SPC and has been very decent mileage clocked for last 5 yrs. However, I do see fuel guzzle up during much idling and waiting time. To save fuel during X-ing customs, or very bad jam/waiting, I switched off the engine.

Since you did mentioned on your cub cold start issue, probably much of the fuel wasted in choke starts.

Contrary, you've a small fuel tank (4 lit size only)

Currently, the new scooter 125cc can do 60-70km per litre i.e 4 litres will do 280km travel. The new feature cut-off engine during traffic stop helps to save fuel.

What does pure mean? Caltex and SPC is from the same refinery, how come caltex ranks above spc?

Impure means put more additives? Isn't that a good thing?

Got tons at spc discarded

SPC counter has a tray with plastic spoon for scratching and in the tray usually has over 5 pc of 40% Phillips discount.

Fake news lah. No one will care how pure.

It's all about how deep your pocket is and how much of it you are willing to spend.

1. Shell cos got the most expensive Vpower.

2. The rest.

YA. Heard the same from a relative working for Exxon who claimed that they did have an internal report which sampled to find which petrol is the cleanest and also mentioned that Esso exceeds the octane rating vs the rest.

Octane rating is different from purity. Essentially, higher octane contains more additives to resist knocking at high fuel compression.

I never said they are the same. It’s cleanliness. The fuel is clean.

Higher than 98 Octane.? [confused][laugh]

Yup 98.3 or something like that. The report seems to imply that all their grades exceed specs.

American companies are very fearful of lawsuits, I think they want to avoid any claims of damage to engine due to octane below specification.

老王賣瓜 la.

I am not an export but I would guess 98.3 is normal if the spec calls for 98. You mean the other brands zun zun 98?
