Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 (edited) I believe after reading, listening to the comments, reports, speeches, during this GE run-up, the issues are mostly/all due to chronic/inappropriate longterm planning. Shorterm solutions mistaken/mispresented as longterm solutions. After many years many/most of the problems surfaced together. Most of us do not enjoy the chronic problems now. No need to emigrate. Just change the ruling party (I had been repeatedly voting for them). Let us vote for change (I will join many/most of you make more conducive observations/participation from now on). We all need to be together, not leave it to the next person (can be inappropriate person) to solve problem(s). Let us look at alternatives if existing one can not work well for us. Happy New Years to everyone. Edited May 3, 2011 by Good-Carbuyer ↡ Advertisement

Kangadrool Supersonic May 4, 2011 Share May 4, 2011 (edited) If you migrate, it means the gahment wins liao. They can just import FT easily to replace us. As much as I am angry over a lot of issues here, I am here to stay. Edited May 4, 2011 by Kangadrool
Maroon5 5th Gear May 4, 2011 Share May 4, 2011 i give credit when credit is due...pap has done well economically but really lacking in the community and social and micro welfare aspects. their solutions seem to always centre ard money. if there is lack of parking space or increased congestion on roads - increase price. n if there is poor development somewhere - increase budget for that area. i thk this is the accountability tat we need. is the money well spent? is there a reward and punishment system in place? i guess we know the answers through YOG, the wrong car populatn projections leading to the COE situation today, the renaming of Marina Bay to Marina Bay etc. the soft side of things is where we really failed. becos of the way they use money to solve problems, they have cultivated a people who have lost their compassion n caring only abt their own well being. how many times we see someone needing help by the side and we just continue our journeys to our destinations? frankly i really like what CST says - if you want the credit, you must take the fall and the people shall not be bullied anymore. You got the point. You are right. Discussed with MP: sometimes there are many solutions to a problem. Can we avoid only applying the same one solution to solve all problems. I meant to raise the cost with the most expensive solution so that less citizens dare to raise problems for discussion/solution. Just commit suicide. MP had agreed. Unfortunately he passed away before anything done. We need to be open to new ideas/methods that are discovered/invented in this modern world to solve problems. Especially those solutions that do not have accompanying chronic issues later for the next generations. Example: many people selling nuclear energy. How many selling non-nuclear energy to the citizens? Low-cost hydro-electricity/wind energy are many times cheaper. Why no politicians keen in these? We are denied many better and cheaper ideas/methods until we make the efforts to change to such alternatives. Example: sportsmen/sportswomen do warm-up to improve their performance. Why we heard of productivity, but no politician keen for such warm-up practice? We got professionals in the ruling party. No one knows how to prevent flooding after so many years? Who pay the balance of the cost, if someone only pay $8/- for surgery cum hospitalisation? We know there are traffic jams, why no one keen to overcome such traffic jams? Many/most people become complacent, including the ruling party to such issues. Let us vote for Singapore's furture. Apology can only be sincere if proper solutions to correct mistakes are mentioned. If none, how to be sincere? How to solve issues with the same bunch of malingers/parasites? We need to be reasonable and responsible for our Singapore. Not let anyone draw $15,000/- monthly fooling around, and hope hopelessly/helplessly no further mistakes forth-coming. We need to have the ruling party as minority after GE. That is a smooth transition, so all can benefit from the transition. ↡ Advertisement
