Viceroymenthol 6th Gear May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 WHY I VOTE OPPOSITION by Richard Seah on Friday, 29 April 2011 at 21:05 This sharing is dedicated especially to younger Singaporeans who may not be aware of some events in Singapore's more distant political past. And to older Singaporeans who, like me, never made much previous effort to find out. ↡ Advertisement

2day Neutral Newbie May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 Listen to what LTK says about the national service. One of the PAP is a new citizen. 1. Maybe another future PM. As we know, there are so many.

Pedigree Neutral Newbie May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 Just a warning to all S'porean voters out there...Pse spread tis message to ur family members, relatives n friends... Since there is a cooling day (6 May) before the polling day where no rallies can b held, i m sure pappies will use their state-controlled mainstream media like ST n TV 2 spread pappie propaganda. LHL will ask u 2 give them a strong mandate n he n his heavyweight ministers will indirectly use all kinds of indirect threats 2 intimidate S'poreans into voting for pappies. Example 1: now pappies r attacking Hougang Town Council to influence Aljunied GRC voters. Example 2: i attend Chiam See Tong's Bishan stadium rally yesterday. It was very crowded but the mainstream Chinese paper shows a photo that presents a 1/2 truth. It shows a picture of Chiam interacting with supporters AFTER the END of rally where some of the crowd has aredi gone home, thus the audience is not as crowded as during the actual duration of the rally itself when the candidates are speaking out there. The words they use to describe the photo also presents 1/2 truth. It says Chiam interacting with supporters AT the rally. It DID NOT indicate that this is a photo taken AFTER the rally has ENDED, giving a false impression tat not many people attend the rally. But i c a lot of people at the stadium. So b on constant alert n prevent urself from being brainwashed or intimated on COOLING DAY. I m very sure the pappies will take the chance to spread a lot of propaganda to trick n deceive u, especially the not so educated older folks. Example: For ALL the CARROTS they dangle at u, u will only get it when u vote for them. The usual threats lah...Treating S'porean voters as DONKEYS. SAY NO TO THE CARROTS THE PAPPIES DANGLE AT YOU, BECAUSE U R NOT A DONKEY. U R A HUMAN BEING...ONLY 3RD WORLD ROGUE, BARBARIC N PAIKIA STYLE GOVT TREAT THEIR CITIZENS LIKE TAT. Thus, spread the word to educate people whom u know, especially the older folks who are not so educated.

Swordwind Clutched May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 being in the heart of the overwhelming bashing/critics on the leading party and the current government lately, my bottom-line is, just because the pap is not perfect, does it mean that we are obliged to vote for any individuals/parties from the opposition just because they are willing to take up this role? ultimately, the GE is a contest for the mandate of the nation's governance at the bigger picture. Other than offering a voice from the floor, have the oppositions show qualities that they have what it takes to govern the nation? and not that i'm pro-pap, in fact i do agree and believe that a good parliament needs good oppositions to co-exist. but i hope the citizens can udstd one point tt is, if we happen to give mandate to idealistic and passionate opposition(s) that can't perform eventually, the "other side" may not be as green as what we believe to be now. i'm not exactly sure it's a good idea for singaporeans to bring down a functional yet imperfect political party, and replace with an inexperience one. however, neither do i think it's a good idea to give full political control to one single party. ultimately, we voters just have to figure out which scenario will be worse off lor? and of cos, i do udstd the answers to these qns can be rather subjective, and seem to have reached the level tt involves more of "faith" and beliefs then analytical basis. haha.. and i myself, am still pondering over them.. haha :P
Chrispie 5th Gear May 3, 2011 Share May 3, 2011 dont you just love the internet for making things so open? PAP can control the papers..but the internet.. no way.
