I am a supporter of PAP

I have mediocre results 10 years ago.

Thank God, I was still able to enter local govt Uni. My bro-i-law got better results, sadly must go SIM.

I am doing alright in my career and that's because I was given an opportunity.

Will your children or grandchildren have this opportunity?

I am the lucky one who got married around the 08-09 recession time.

Got my high but still reasonable pigeon hole in Punggol at 280k

Got my car before COE spike

Got my job before the foreigners came in.....

Now I look at my friends who are graduating soon, I really feel for them.

I look at my daughter and I fear for her future coz she might not be top 3 in her class.

Perhaps top 10 might not be good enough in future too.

I just want her to have a childhood and not have endless tuition and enrichment classes from 7 years old onwards.

So I hope to have a group of leaders who will put our children and us first and I hope you will too.

If you think the PAP is going to do that, then vote for them.

In 1959, PAP came into power as the opposition after beating labour front party(previously led by David Marshal ) who had won the earlier election in 1955.

I would say the future was much more risky then as compared to today where stability will not collapse that u and other Singaporeans have been led to believe through brainwashing propaganda .

Its quite presumptous of you to think I have been brainwashed...

I believe the downfall stems from the FW policy...that opened the floodgates....hundreds of thousands lost their jobs with this, and 1/3 became taxi drivers.....thus, the memory stays

You make it sound like being a PAP supportor is wrong...

I believe most who are not from SMC are victims, and can have the same feeling.

LKY mentioned that , if the next election is 2-3yrs , he think he still strong enough to give it a go. if any later , no promises.

with this statement, my gut feel would be, should they lose any GANG ROB CITIZEN , they would call the next election soon instead of the 5 years cycle.

think LKY has rightly said...be it a sign of defeat, but it says that 'life still goes on if they win a GRC'....and that could be a appraisal time for the opp that takes it...and if non-performance is seen, then 5 yrs later, vote the incumbent back....that would show the ruling party to prove that it is indeed superiuor

without redrawing the electoral boundaries, then it's fair n square like a gentleman contest. Otherwise, it's kelong again

Yes. I agree with you. He should think ...then wouldnt CV and resumes be obsolete in the corporate world too?

By the way, I am politically neutral..just felt the reasoning doesnt make sense.

Good motherhood statement there... how would someone with no past performance fair? Take the risk?

Sorry... to summarise and correct me if I am wrong... you were "given" the opportunity so the government was still okay and you don't see that happening moving forward? And while you decide if I'm understanding you correctly...

I would say you were not "given" the opportunity.. I would say you "took" it. There is a significant difference.

Looking at the way MM Lee, SM Goh n the heavyweight ministers behave, i m convinced that opposition is required for the good of S'pore in the long run.

Can share with us if you are selling insurance? Observation: long-term=long run= chronic inflation. Why need their out-of-date mindsets around for more inflation, chronic or otherwise?

MIW or no MIW lives go on.

you mean MIWs are giving the ONLY right way of life? wacko.gif

I believe most of the Gangsters-Rob-Citizens victims will want the freedom to vote the candidate of their choice. The People Avoiding Party only field candidates likely to increase inflation (non-GRC victim also will suffer).

in fact ask ourselves:are MIWs leading us into correct living.

  1. FTs influx, thousands lose or fear losing their jobs.
  2. inflation
  3. affordability of housing
  4. acountability
  5. retirement
  6. education.
  7. endless....

In the internet, i wld guess most of the netizens are democratic in the general sense ie pro freedom of speech, liberal thoughts etc, thats y 90% of netizens bash any old school concentrated power type system. The internet can never be a true sense of the ground, but i can b used to gauge indicators. Maybe a "discount rate" of 30-40% can be applied to know the real situation on the ground.

You are suggesting that we give a chance to someone who hasn't done it before so that they can then have a track record? I am not keen to bet my family's future so that someone can have a better resume....
