i assume that's 5.6km/l... not sure whether it's cos you're driving a more "classic" model, but the newer models in general get 7km/l or more even with very spirited driving...

maybe the definition of "very spirited" driving is different between u and me, i get <5km/l when boost all the way.... but, fun is the word to describe!!!

daily ride using stream is nice, since jammed is one to be expected daily.......... weekend warrior shld be the STI!!!!!

Ideally, a hybrid would be good for traffic jams and turbo car for the weekend.

Problem for me is I had a hybrid, and now I have a turbo car.

And I am neither here nor there - I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum.

I do miss the ultra-smooth acceleration for the hybrid at slow speeds.

But I don't miss the CVT whine when the battery is at low charge.

Depends on whats your car make and type of turbo. Izzit a twin with super and turbo or just turbo. The turbo is seldom 100% on. Its 100% on mostly in 2nd gear when you zing.

If you stuck in traffic then turbo if off, fuel same same as NA car.

Some cars you can specify how much is max turbo, it may range from 0.8 to 1.2 bar or something

frog in the well comment??

Face the facts, owning a car means u must have a certain financial ability and all the more so when u want something more powerful..

And for those who claim they want to save the environment.. if u are such a tree hugger drive something more economical or go take the train lar..

Supersonic

[sleeping] Want turbocharged, want more power, then still want to worry about FC?? [sleeping]

TC doesn't necessarily mean higher FC or higher emissions.

My 2.5L T5 does 8.5km/L. (Euro IV)

Had the (unfortunate) chance to drive a thaiyota camry 2.0L for a week. FC = 8km/L. (dunno if Euro 1 oso or not)

Drivetrain technologies and power/weight ratio plays a part in good FC.

doesnt make the fact that your comment is Frog in the well.

its well know that Turbocharge engine are now part of the effort to have a better FC. [laugh]

facts is, if your 2.5L T5 is using similar power NA engine, the FC is going to be worse

you're referring to the period when you're boosting?... the older models don't have a fc indication, so we're referring to the average over a tank...

well, we should be comparing cars of similar bhp and not engine capacities. No point comparing a 2L with 140bhp and a 2L TC with 230bhp.

well i dun think his comment are completely "frog in the well". believe his key argument is not the "turbocharged", but "power".

low boost for street-driveability (low fc), high boost for adrenaline-rush (high fc). if you refer to the first point, then you might be right on the fitw thingy, not on latter.

but since TS ride is street-driveability type, guess u r right to certain extend......

yap i am not comparing similar engine capcities here. believe his 2.5L T5 will need at least a 3.2L NA engine to reach the same capacity.

2L 140 Bhp will be competiting against 1.6 TC??

if we looked at things from a technological point of view, a car would be able to give you great performance yet consumes little fuel at little cost

i believe as many people in this thread have pointed out that TC cars can and do give better fuel economy than non TC cars, so your point of view is out-dated
