If Chen Show Mao doesn't win in the coming elections, I hope he can contest for the President!! Surely support him! Can't imagine he's the president and all our MIW have to get rubber stamp approval from him....

with all the thing about FTs.

It sure is ironic that people will support a person that was born in taiwan, got citizenship in 1986 and was not in SG for the past 30yrs or so...

irony isn't it?

As long as you are holding on to a citizenship and have served your NS, you are a 'qualified' citizen of Singapore, regardless of where you are born. - This is the feel on the ground.

We are also getting sensitized to the gahmen rantings of how we need the FTs.

If he qualifies to be termed a FT, then an FT fighting for the people is at anytime preferable to an incumbent milking the people dry.

In any case, with his rock solid credentials in finance and his public support for the opposition, one can only hope that he continues and succeeds in OTC's legacy to provide accountability to the people with his expertise and experience.

Haha..

FYI.. Our President is more of a figurehead role. You should change the PM..

probably going to go down the same path OTC took if that really happens.

supposed to be in control of the reserves but somehow, for some reason, he doesn't know how much.

interesting actually... that serving NS is required to be a 'qualified' citizen? in this case, what if it is a lady?

Can you compare Chen with FMH and JP point for point so that we can be enlightened by your viewpoints please.

Thanks,

That would depend on Sinkie's mentality and her credentials.

With built-in traditional mindset reinforced from a young age, I doubt it would happen.

Maybe Nicole Seah when she's 50.

Difficult to judge as he is only a partner of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and he may not qualify under g(iii) or g(iv)

Yes it's very subjective.

Based on what I know right now, I think that his managment of the world's biggest public listing should qualify him under "similiar" experience.

As should his history in corporate law. But it would be up to the assessment committee to decide.

I do remember the last round with all the allegations that came out and I am very sure the matter will be robustly debated.
