my tyre is due to change soon... using 195/55 R15. wanted to try something new and im looking for something that is value for money. My budget is only $100/tyre. i have never tried Hankook and Kumho tyre thus considering tyre from these 2 brands. Im look for

1st priority- Pricing, less than $100/tyre

2nd priority- braking power/ stopping distance in wet/ dry

3rd priority- tyre wear rate

comfort & noise is never an issue.... i do not mind if my top 3 priority could be match..

I've used A drive, Ze912 and now KU31

The best tyre or value for money of these 3 is the Kumho KU31. Though it is made in Vietnam, it is QC.

Using it for 20k km already. Still have a lot of rubber. I've drive up to KL and it has been very steady.

I've reached speed of 170 [blush] and also went through a lot of rain.

It is not a quiet tyre but a responsive one.

Anyway braking depends on the brakes of your car, the rotors, suspension and tyres. So it doesn't mean having a good tyre means you will stop in time.

You need to keep all the components in check and well serviced.

I'm not sure about Hankook but was also told they're pretty decent and value-for-$ tires.

Just 2 cents

How much is KU31 and KU36? Best price for 15"?

Check with Chen Jin. They carry both. KU36 for 15inch only have this size - 205/45/15

BTW, it's a semi-slick tyre. Use it only if you do a lot of cornering or tracking.

KU31 has 2 popular sizes. 195/55/15 and 195/50/15

195/55/15 seems to be out of stock for a while.

Chen Jin has 195/50/15

The ride will be harder and lower a bit. If your car is lowered, be careful when u are at MSCP or at some shopping centres.

They should be lesser than $90 a piece if I remember correctly.

tyre in Mal is not anything cheaper than SG. Even manufactured in Mal, the pricing is almost the same as SG only. for those imported tyres (even thai, indo, Viet), comfirmed much expensive there...

There is a $38 and a $50 membership.

The former entitles you to a $50 voucher for new battery. The latter one entitles you to the $50 batt voucher and a $50 voucher for miscellaneous items such as frameless wiper, car mats, air freshener, headrest and such.

I got the $50 one as my wipers were due for a change anyway. [;)]

Membership is 2 yrs with free tyre patching, 15% off accessories purchased at Hankook, discount price for all tyres.

hankook is a good choice... cheaper than other brands such as bridgestone and michellin and performance is exactly what they said it would be

eh hello u want safety and performance or you want pretty looking tires that might or might not do the work? So what if you have a nice looking thread pattern or nice sidewalls? does it matter to you as much as the performance of the tires? Also, how the tyre looks also depends on your rims? My CSC3s look different mounted on a merc as compared to mine
