Alantan1978 1st Gear May 5, 2013 Author Share May 5, 2013 My Lancer EX have the same warning light again last month. Give up servicing with C&C as it's another high damage.

It appear abt few mins later when driving sometimes 10 mins later. Braking wise no abnormality. Is it electronically crazy? This abnormality only happen past wks. In the past, once in every 6 mths appear once. Heard restart ECU helps by unplugging batt for hr or so. Does anyone tried that?

Djim 1st Gear June 13, 2013 Share June 13, 2013 ABS Sensor - the unit that counts the wheel turning via a tooth crown wheel - is an expensive item due to its very precision counting and also require the use of special designed reamers to clean up the housing bore hole before replacing a new unit. The reaming process is very necessary to get rid of rusts and dirts and also to ensure the new unit seats perfectly without any side movements. looks and sounded complicated for the average joe
Dark_flan 2nd Gear June 18, 2013 Share June 18, 2013 My ABS light seems to disappear for the past few days now ABS recovered by itself. I did not do anything to the settings or repair. But washing my car. Funny. But very good. Save me the $$.
Pisces69 6th Gear June 18, 2013 Share June 18, 2013 Hi bros is there any other reliable workshops that's able to troubleshoot n repair/replace the ABS sensors besides C&C and CH motors? Tks. Seems like this is a common problem with Mitsu cars.
Ver45 Clutched June 18, 2013 Share June 18, 2013 (edited) I had this problem when I was in Penang this CNY. As I didn't want to take the risk during the long journey back to SG, I had it changed there. Final bill was RM 766.66 for one sensor, quite a bit cheaper than C&C. Yeewf Neutral Newbie September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 Hi All, I am driving a Kia Rio 1.4HB M[2009] and the ABS light have been on for more than 6 months. Did what all have suggested, but still the same. Finally went to a workshop around Toh Guan area and they are charging (for parts and labor) around 200+ with GST. They did have the tool to check and it was my left rear wheel and the person was kind enough to not charge me for the simple 5 min check. I was told sometimes it is dirt or leaves that got caught at the sensor and so when washing the car you ask the person to spray near the brake sensor and sometimes it will dislodge the particles. But so far no such luck for me. My question is, is it critical to get it change immediately or it is one of those that can wait till servicing? Thanks. Kurty Supercharged September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 how does the ABS actually Help/comes in? mine also having this issues for some time. I didn't sent for rectification yet. Intend only after I change the rotor, pads etc
Dieselord 2nd Gear September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 however, i heard from a friend (who is an ah beng working in workshop) that ABS rectification in outside workshop is unreliable. if they die die can't rectify, they'll simply disable the ABS and charge u machiam like they have repaired it. so hw we will knw whether ABS has been disable for the scenario above?? Monxtre 1st Gear September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 Quick and cheap fix for no ABS is to - Don't tailgate - Slow down when approaching junctions and traffic lights You're welcome. No thank you. What if another vehicle swerve to your lane & jam brake? Many unpredictable things can happen.
Brx Clutched September 13, 2013 Share September 13, 2013 No thank you. What if another vehicle swerve to your lane & jam brake? Many unpredictable things can happen. That kind of situation, need in car camera more than ABS. Similarly, when an SMRT bus comes hopping like a kangaroo head on into your face, the only difference between ABS and no ABS is probably the tire skid mark. No doubt having ABS is better than not having ABS. But having good driving habits without ABS is better than having poor driving habits with ABS. ↡ Advertisement
