recently, i heard my uni educated friend saying vote can be traced (got serial number) and may be punished.

so many ppl coming out to join opposition with impressive caliber, cv and jobs, why we are still afraid?

I fear this fear will play an important role in this election.

The votes can be traced if they want to.. but there's no need for it. They (PAP or opposition??) just need know the demographics of where their voters are. For example, during counting of votes for Box A that comes from East Coast GRC, they just need to know the % voting for them (which can be easily done) and which area of East Coast GRC.

Next thing u know will be the re-drawing of GRC boundaries.. Lol

This would be my sixth time voting (inclusive of presidential vote). I am still as I am.

Tell me, how would your uni educated friend account for those who voted in PP and Hougang?

Maybe your uni educated friend can also enlighten me how is Mr Chiam and Mr Low's family members doing after becoming opposition leaders for so long?

Anymore scare tactics from your uni educated friend? Please educate me.

If I'm not wrong, at the vote counting center. Both OP and Pappies will have their volunteers to jointly count the votes. At end of day, the ballot boxes will be sealed and locked for some XXX days.. Once XXX days are over, the votes will be trashed.. Although our votes are serial-numbered and tag to our NRIC, I believe it's only tracked when discrepancies arise.. Who knows some insider may print the same voting voucher to manipulate the results?

Fear not.. vote with your heart and passion of anger too [laugh]

It is pretty sad that such a scenario of the fear of voting for opposition & thus being tracked/penalised still exists in our first-world city, come to think of it.

Come on people, we are supposed to be free people, each of us having the constitutional right to choose our very own representative to speak, fight for us in a democratic society.

The very fact that many of such urban legend tales springing up really tells you a lot how we have progressed in terms of software even though our economic powess is impressive as compared to many countries.

LKY ruled SG via Fear - back then it was fear of being labeled as pro-communist, anti-racial etc.. As the economy grew, communist threat vaporized and people are more affluent, the ruling mechanism has evolved into more high-class fear such as asset-value drop, no lift upgrade, economy will spin downward if Pappies don't rule.. Like what media has been saying, Singaporean are too comfy..

Vote with your heart, love your country - not the party.. may the best men gets the job..
