Brewing up a cuppa history

The New Paper | Tue Apr 19 2011

The next time you head for your coffee, remember the history behind the beverage.

Singapore, April 19, 2011

A CUPPA can perk us up in the morning, ready to face the day.

In Singapore, the tradition of starting the day with a good hot cup of coffee goes back a long way.

Local coffee chain Nanyang Old Coffee, which opened its first franchise on Jan 16, 2009, aims to revive the unique taste of Singapore coffee, as well as its brewing methods and utensils.

The company, a finalist in 2009
