Mostly 4. If wanna change, normally the mech will advice change all. How if you change 2 bad one to new one, drive for a little more, the other two also gone. You have to pay for labor again? Just change all, my 2 cents.

Also must depends how many mounting you have on your car. Heard some car have 4 mounting, some only have 3 mounting. So this would also affect the total amount of the price.

haha, I almost miss the end part. $450 can change so many things!!

As consumers, we dont expect the cheapest but just reasonable price.

Alas, reasonable price workshops are hard to come by.

Hmmmz....

Nissan Sunny.

Bought my own mounts: $145 from stockist (4 parts) Aftermarket.

My workshop charged me $450!!!! :o

Usually mounting koyat will be around same duration.. so if replace one might as well replace all.. Like that save on labour cost just to go back workshop again very soon to change another koyat mounting again.. Well it just my thoughts.

Well if ws charge 1 labour charge to change 4 mountings then its a good deal.

Ya la.. that is why many people would recommand might as well change all.. Coz imagine workshop people already quite relantent to keep dismantle and fix it back many times. might as well 1 shot do all save workshop people time and trouble of hard work.

To change mounting not so easy as open bonnet and see where it is and change.. It involve taking out many parts before the mounting can be change. So you want 1 time take out many parts or everytime go back and workshop people had to take out many times? Of coz 1 time do finish will be much cheaper than go many times in just short span of time.. as mounting lifespan usually same duration..

The mountings are located at diff part. For mine, 1 at driver's side, another at passenger side, another under the engine and another at the chassis I think. Usually the driver's side wear out faster. They only need to dismantle that one side only. A few months passed oready, other mounting haven't give way yet.

Than the other 3 mounting will also very fast going to reach it's life already.. and it is not really cost effective just to go workshop 3 times where the workshop will charge labour cost everytime you go change.. might as well change at 1 go.. save labour cost.. and save time and trouble to keep going workshop where time save you could do a lot of better things you like.

No lah. Its the interest to do it yrself. Not easy but at least don't get ketok by mechanics. Best part is have a mechanic friend or 2 that u can consult with. If can't do it, pay them to do it while u buy the part yrself.

(edited)

Called up riverview last week quoted me $830 excluding GST to change all 4 engine mounting.

Thought the price was on the high side but decided to let them change the mounting base on the good feedback from this forum.

Went there this morning, he took my car for a spin and confirm that it is engine mounting problem and I can collect the car in the afteroon.

Something prompted me to confirm with him the price he quoted me over the telephone $830 plus GST.

He said the price is $1,035 plus GST.

I just drove my car away.

Hi Tok, I'm also driving cefiro 2.3. My last servicing at TC the mechanic told me 2 engine mounts has worn off and recommends to be replaced. As I haven't felt any vibrations yet I KIV first. Actually there's a discussion on this at sgnissanclub maybe you can go there and take a look. But I have enquired a few workshops including those that specialises in Nissan cars and they all say that normally only change 3 mounts.
