correct if you are born in another 1st world country and ur earning power is base on an average engineer like you mention not much diff. remember overseas there is no CPF to help u down payment and do installment plus no such thing as housing loan less than 2% base on current market. go google Aus, UK or US bank there and see housing loan rate.

https://www.citimortgage.com/Mortgage/displ...chaseLanding.do

URL on US current home loan rate even with US LIBOR so low like our SIBOR

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_count..._ownership_rate

Singapore housing policy did help many home ownership.

Yes I do see life is getting tough for average Joe especially in globalisation thus of ur status or income is like what you mention, live in any 1st world nation will be tough too.

think should think of how to upgrade or enhance ur value to your company or own business thus the life will likely to improve

if you guys notice not many Asia countries, thus we should be thankful of sound policy in the past and how we should improve policy and ourself rather than ask to be spoon feed.

this is insane...sengkang 4room high end 400K, so inconvenient

The ones highlighted above are premium flats near buangkok mrt station, about 400 to 500m away only. Not that ulu. Near pungool park and has amenities like 24 hr ntuc, coffee shops, schools etc most just turn 5 years old. But prices are indeed very steep.

Premium or Non Premium, new flats are still going to be priced based on resale... No? [grin]

Take a gd look at yourself instead of the world.

I would think more than just resale pricing. a lot got to do with material

eg steel prices you get the feel http://www.worldsteelprices.com/

now we have problem getting sands as no longer so near indo but boat got to go further to Vietnam or cambo. high oil price thus overall cost??

some bluecollar FT also cost more compare to 5 years ago

set a MIN wage cap. that solves many problems.

paying 1.5k to a local or FT. choose.

this will cost inflation again not just a A or B answer.

example many restaurant hire waiter or waiteress at $1k to $1.2k thus if each headcount increase by $300 do you think the business owner wont increase menu price?

imagine you go WS servicing.... min labour cost $100 :o

I personally believe education is the primary key as this should be the ground to improve individual life, as knowledge is power.

A billionaire can leave lotsa $$$ to his children, but those $$$ can be con, cheat or stolen from the billionaire children if they are not careful but not education and knowledge as this always stay in ur head.

society and civilisation evolve from knowledge thus educating the youth is the basic long-term foundation
