Best maintenance is to check your parking lot as you drive out every morning for fresh oil and fluid leaks on the ground from your vehicle and foul smell from your exos

I agree to disagree, if you're staying HDB, it's diff to check whether it leak on floor, coz it's almost dark stained all the times left by others, less you put a clean white paper/cloth underneath and tape onto floor to see result tomorrow when you move off.

This is a better way to determine it leak or not.

Hi bros I'm driving a Toyota and mileage reaching 60k, which type of the above oil should I use? Some mechanic says once reached 60, advisable to use w40, is it true?

30 is thinner oil compared to 40 oil, The mechanic asked you to use the 40 one as thinker oil wont make the engine sound so noisy, thicker oil can cushion the sounds of the valves and internal engine moving parts.

Neutral Newbie

shell.

I wouldn't recommend 5-30 for most cars as neither does the manufacturer based on our local weather condition (HOT HOT HOT). Still, according to our contacts in AD, the newer generation of cars (especially the Hybrids) can use 5-30 with sufficient protection to last 10 years with not much issues.

I believe that one to be a messchanic, not Mechanic, since he knows next to nothing about it. 5W40 only gives you marginally more confidence if often caught in traffic jams. Otherwise 5W30 better for FC.

For older engines and ones that are driven at sustained highways speeds during hot weather, 10W-30 or 10W-40 is a good choice. Older cars may specify 10W30 only. This is because they need a little more viscosity when cold to keep a protective film on the cylinder walls. The experts say that 10W30 is the closest thing to a one size fits all oil. Many older vehicles need 10W30, and most new vehicles are okay with it in warmer climates.

P.S. The above is extracted from a website on topic relating to engine oil.

Totally wrong theory of engine oil from your experts. 0W50 is more appropriate one size fit all grade engine oil.
