i flush my cooling system... 1st time brown stuff came out (45k mileage)... then every 20k... 2nd time was nice and green.... 3rd time came out like brand new coolant.... [laugh] (every change buy a coolant treament GUNK abt$15... tropical coolant$5 x2... many btls of distilled water from NTUC)....

gear oil i first changed at 45k... came out so foam long kang colour... then at 60+k change again came out like new oil leh... (3btls of castrol 80w/90 GL4 @ abt $8/btl)

Those brown stuff are rust builtup, pay abit more use only long life coolant, cost more no water, need not have to change at all just top up thru the reservior but I do flush during my 100k intervals to play safe but no brown stuff present as you mentioned blue liquid only. During petrol stop I never let the bangla put water into my radiator. But I did dat since day one I collected my car.

Motul has this so called double ester technology... Amsoil is not ester based i think... but 1st synthetic oil in the world... good stuff...

here here can read up abt these oils..

Same with me change Transmission oil at every 40-60 recommended 60k. Gearoil is more crucial den EO.

transmission oil (auto) yes... but not gearoil (manual)...

manual gearbox daily normal driving can last very long... 100k also can as many of my friends believe... but no more than 20-30k for me... [:)]

went for servicing. told by the mech that i use w20 oil, my engine will eat abit of the oil. then will kena sparkplug, thats why will black black cannot use.

therefore i changed my sparkplug after 12k. its ok because stock, not those super ex de.

using w30 oil now, engine is not as noisy. hopefully the FC will not be affected much

I think we should follow the car manual.

Some people believe that if a 30 weight oil provides good protection, a 50 weight must provide great protection. That's not necessarily true. If your vehicle was not designed to take a 50 weight oil, using one may not cause more engine wear, but it will likely cause an increase in engine temperatures. This can be just as bad for the longevity of your engine as increased engine wear.

yes the engine is probably designed with the viscosity of the lubricant in mind

using a "thicker" might add more load to the engine...
