I agree with your point, but it just makes these drivers going through another hassle.

What needs to be done is for our TP to come down hard on enforcement on these drivers. Foreign drivers ain't the only ones speeding and breaking traffic rules, local drivers are equally guilty of it.

If the law can be amended to make the lorry owner (which is company owned) equally responsible in an accident, the company would be more inclined to have more control over the driver's actions. Just like a fine and seizure of the vehicle for a few months, it would cause inconveniences to the company for it to feel the "pain".

Problem is that would create a new class of license.

Those 16 foot lorry only need class 3 - so there iss no differentiation between "commercial" and "private" at the moment.

If say "all commercial drivers" that is creating a class of license of commercial drivers.

When I first came, had to pass the written test only. I wouldn't have minded also doing a practical test, but I would find the idea of having to take lessons quite annoying and over the top.

not starting a new class. rather they have to re-take the test despite having license in their own land.

in short, let those FW license no count unless taken in singapore.

asking TP coming down hard is not good enough.. problem is errantic driver. if we filter those out by not giving them a license, they will not drive. they dont drive this type of things wont happen

Hi Bros

i am back from the hospital. Feel very sad. Tomorrow morning one more operation for the leg. Still bleeding some and looking at the pictures the trauma looks very terrible possibly revealed bone.

On the bright side my dad says his fractured ribs are not hurting so much like yesterday.

Will keep updating this thread.

Thank you so much!

Please keep the message spreading to all around if any eye witnesses are within our midst please call me at 9152 5566.

Once again, I am very grateful to everyone and i will go around tomorrow in the area to ask if anyone saw the incident after my class.

Good Evening Bros and Sis

I am Cerano's son.

Today my dad was involved in a very bad accident with a Lorry which ran a light and drifted and rammed into him while he was on his way to work on a motorbike.

This accident occured at roughly 9am off Jurong Town Hall Road at the T Junction beside the Science Centre.

I am appealing to all motorists who were in the area and were live witnesses to step up.

My dad is now having an operation with multiple lacerations and trauma to his legs as well as 5 fractured ribs. The Lorry literally flattened the motorbike.

Please pass the word and help me out here.

Thank you

Sorry to hear what happened to Cerano bro. Hope you get well soon..

By the way, I thot your Dad drives the C-Class? at least that was what we all knew from his time in the forum..

it is not the bike that is dangerous but becos the bike is vulnerable, even if you are a skilful rider, you are often at higher risk than other road users.

thanks very much for the support bro Aimnfire & Damienc.

I think riding a bike is not that dangerous but ultimately inconsiderate and irresponsible drivers make it so ):
